Brett Wagner has managed to offend so many Democratic groups and activists it is getting hard to keep count.
Brett, if you would keep open lines of communication I am confident many of these issues wouldn't happen.
My biggest problem is that he keeps pretending he hasn't heard the news that Elton Gallegly changed his mind and is planning to run again. It might be great for fund raising to say you are running for an open seat, but it is dishonest not to mention that there is some doubt and the incumbent has also stated he is running again.
Brett, if he does retire at the end of this term, I apologize. But it has been widely reported across the nation that he is running again. Why do you still have on your website a request for money with really outdated information? Do you know something we don't? To your credit you did say way before anyone else that he was going to retire in 2006 and you were close on that one.
If you keep upsetting Democratic groups how could you hope to unite the party against Elton Gallegly or another Republican?
Anyways, if you want to read how Brett Wagner has angered the Young Progressive Democrats of Ventura County read on.
UPDATE: Brett Wagner has responded at The Ojai Post ( A very fine blog site).
UPDATE: Posting the address seems not to be the main issue being that the address is also on the front page of the Ventura County Democrats website.
UPDATE: If Heather and Brett will sit down and talk it out and come to an understanding I will unpublish this entry so they aren't hurting their party's unity. Brett, let me know if you are open to it. I left a message on your campaign office number earlier.
UPDATE: I signed up again for Brett Wagner's campaign e-mails but for some reason I don't get them. But don't worry Brett, plenty of people forward them to me!
Feel free to go to Brett Wagner's webpage and sign up for his updates.
Here is his latest e-mail.

Subject: Campaign Response to Recent News
Dear Friend,
While our campaign webmaster is enjoying a well-deserved
vacation, I've been busy trying to update our website's
home page to keep up with some important unfolding news.
Our new home page should be up soon, but in the meantime
here's a sneak preview:
Welcome to the official web site of Brett Wagner for
Congress 2008.
As widely reported in the local media last year, our
district's longtime archconservative incumbent formally
announced that he will not seek reelection in 2008 and has
invited other potential candidates from all parties to
begin preparing for the upcoming election to replace him.
UNFORTUNATELY, he recently backpedaled on this decision,
throwing his hat back into the ring.
(Can you say "Flip - Flop"? I knew you could!)
As everyone should remember, Mr. Gallegly tried to pull
out of the race in 2006 at the absolute last minute as a
sneaky maneuver to limit the field of potential Republican
candidates, as a cynical attempt to empower himself to
handpick his GOP successor. He must have been quite
surprised when he learned that he had slipped up and the
last minute had already passed... Many - including our
campaign - are suspicious that he has a similar trick up
his sleeve for 2008.
If it's true that Gallegly IS indeed planning to repeat
this maneuver (only successfully this time) it also has
the VERY UNFORTUNATE side effect of discouraging Democrats
from contributing to our campaign, leading them to
mistakenly believe that the seat will not soon be "opening
up" - - -
Our current congressman's recent flip-flop
notwithstanding, our contacts in Washington are continuing
to tell us that Rep. Gallegly is quite likely preparing to
retire and possibly even step down early, and our
district's next congressional election may even come
sooner than expected in the form of a special election
later this year or early next year.
For these reasons and others, we expect this race to enjoy
broad national attention.
With all this firmly in mind, we should begin preparing a
winning campaign as soon as possible.
We are eager to continue growing and improving upon what
we built together during our 2004 congressional campaign,
including the largest field operation our district has
ever seen (with more than 800 active volunteers) and
nearly a quarter million dollars raised from more than
1,100 generous contributors.
Our team is very optimistic about our chances of switching
this perhaps soon-to-be open seat from Republican to
Democrat. But we need YOUR help.
As Brett likes to remind us, "Together we can build the
America of our Dreams - but only together."
P.S. With the 2nd Quarter of 2007 ending this coming
Saturday, it's very important to remember that the old
adage always rings true... EARLY MONEY IS THE MOST
VALUABLE! If we can hit our goals, it should help us
receive important endorsements and begin opening up the
REALLY BIG money from various organizations, such as the
Victory Fund
Please be as generous as you can when planning your
campaign contribution between now and June 30.

As a side note, Heather has he called to work it out between you two? The offer to clear up the dispute so that he can help unite, instead of divide the party still stands. I will take down this thread if he does it.
I did call again today, but he hasn't responded to me either. I guess he has enough media attention.
