Looks like Jim Dantona is running. The picture is Democratic Leader Laura Winchester, Oxnard city council member Tim Flynn, and Jim Dantona candidate for state senate ( Against Tony Strickland, seat currently held by Tom McClintock.)

The Democrats are throwing their annual spring fling party today with the Lt. Governor, Lois Capps ( US House) , and Pedro Nava ( State Assembly).

Okay, maybe it isn't dangerous. It actually is a fun, family friendly event. I have been in past years and it is pretty packed with people. It is a great opportunity for networking. If you want to know who is planning to run for office, attending events like this is a great tip off. Will Jim Dantona be there ( thinking about state senate district 19 against Tony Strickland)? or Richard Francis ( thinking about US House seat currently held be Gallegly) ? Let me know tonight when my bloggers get back. Also, send in some pictures before I run out of cats.

Go to venturacountydemocrats.com for more details.

Here is a photo from the event with Laura Winchester and Lt. Gov. John Garamendi

Laura Winchester, I know you appreciate funny cat pictures so here is another one.

You don't have to be a Democrat to go. But after going I bet you will be impressed with how organized the party is in West County. There truly is an East VS West divide in VC politics.

We should make the kitty a lobbist just to prove you can be a pussycat and still get things done.

When will Jim Dantona do a guest blog here?

Seems like he gets more coverage here than most elected officials, yet no guest blog.

What's the deal Brian?

"Guest Blog",

As you have been reading my website for some time now you most surely know that almost any candidate or cause can have coverage here. All the need to do is send an e-mail to me. That is how I posted the picture of Laura Winchester. And that is how I posted the Mike Osbourn letter.

That being said I think it will be a great idea as we get closer to the election to have Jim Dantona and Tony Strickland take questions from readers.

If you run across any elected officials, let them know they have an open invite.

Brian

Have you invited him to do a guest blog?

What did he say?

"Guest" raises a really good point. Republicans tend to show up and actually get asked a bunch of questions on this blog. With the exception of Laura Winchester and ML Peterson, the rest of the democratic establishment hides in the shadows.

Why isn't Jim Dantona doing a guest blog? What is he afraid of?

Studebaker,

I beg to differ - there have been other Democrats who have responded to questions on this blog.

I'm sure Dantona would be happy to do a guest blog at some point in the future. The man is afraid of absolutely nothing.

Studebaker,

Laura

Dantona didn't do one guest blog in the supervisor's race and he's not afraid. Give me a break!!!

Like I said, Republicans actually guest blog on serious positions. I've seen more guest blogs and discussions from Republicans than democrats on this blog.

All dems want to talk about is latte's, beer guzzling meet-up's, and whether they would date a Republican...

Hardly serious stuff.

Studebaker,

Was Dantona asked to do a guest blog during the Sups race? Did Foy do a guest blog? Yeah, didn't think so.

Brian is posting notices about events that are designed to engage the community and raise money. I'm sure when the Reps have a BBQ or some such event, it will be posted too.

I responded to all the questions posed, including the ones that annoyed me or that I found irrelevant. The dating question came from a REPUBLICAN, so if it offended you, take it up with him. He subsequently explained why he thought it was of interest.

Tell me, are people allowed to be lighthearted and have a sense of humor here from time to time, or shall all posting be exclusively to the standards that you set?

Laura

The numbers don't lie. More republicans are doing guest blogs and talking issues on here than democrats.

I just thought it was funny that Dantona has a picture with Governor Richardson or somebody else every other day here, but won't take the time to explain/engage on the issues with readers of this blog.

I also didn't know, until you mentioned it, that Dantona set his standards based on what Foy did. As John Edwards said tonight, that's called following not leading. :)

I plan to use this quote in the future:

"I've seen more guest blogs and discussions from Republicans than democrats on this blog."

Next time someone like Flap complains I don't give Republicans enough space I am using that one. Thanks for the quote.

I have more guest blog entries from Republicans because in East Ventura County there are more Republican office holders.

Peter Foy or Jim Dantona never requested a guest blog entry. I don't really know if we need more Jim Dantona coverage right now. But trust me, as we get closer to the primary election (if it is contested) or the general I will make sure both candidates are very much discussed and investigated by my readers. If you want a candidate to come on here, feel free to e-mail them for me. I don't always have time and I appreciate the help.

I am more interested in having current school board members from CVUSD and Camarillo come on here right now. it seems more topical.

But thanks for the feedback. If you feel I haven't posted events from your causes or candidates before you whine, make sure to send me the information to post in an e-mail.

Studebaker,

Don't be obtuse, the point was that neither candidate did a guest blog. (But I am glad that you watched the Dem debate tonight.)

Yes, there have been more Reps than Dems blogging here - for now. Might that have something to do with there being more Reps elected to local office in Simi, and since that's where Brian lives, he has been primarily reaching out in that area? I will say that he's also started expanding into other areas of the county with ML, Zaragosa, Flynn, etc.

Laura

I'm not obtuse, I'm a Republican. :) (insert punchline here)

I did watch the debate. Looks like Hillary is wrapping up the nomination.

I think it's weird that so much stuff is posted with pictures and announcements on Dantona's behalf, yet he doesn't want to engage bloggers.

We know he knows about this blog because he sends stuff in, but why not actually blog and engage voters?

Studebaker,

Please go through the guest blog entires from candidates and elected officials and give me a tally.

I think exposure helps candidates. Do you agree?

If so, are you upset I am helping Republicans too much?

I will be interested in Dantona doing a guest blog as we get closer. But being that he hasn't officially announced, and isn;t an elected official, I'd rather pay more attention to people that do hold office. Like Mark Van Dam and Keith Millhouse.

Again, thanks for the input. Feel free to e-mail for me any candidates you want to hear from.

Studebaker,

Which Simi Valley city council member do you nominate to take questions next? Are you more interested in asking them questions or an unofficial candidate for an election in about 1 1/2?

What about local school board members ( any district)?

Jim Dantona afraid? Get with it, Stude. Look at that photo of Dantona. He is down to his fighting weight. I've never seen him in better physical shape. He and Laura look to be wearing buttons that sure do imply that he is indeed running for the State Senate against the once Tiger. Go for it Jim! Gidget and I are behind you 100%.

Brian

Let's start with Dantona. After all, he seems to get the most pictures around here.

I'd also like to see more people from Camarillo politics come out...

Studebaker, you forgot to nominate a Simi Valley council member.

You have seen all the Camarillo leaders posting about their schools recently, yes?

Whcih ever council member you nominate, I will e-mail. And when I see Dantona next I will ask him.

I don't know Simi Valley all that well...

Duh, I would like for Dantona and Strickland to guest blog on here so they can be asked questions by faceless/nameless people who will ask them questions that can't be answered. For example, "Do you beat your wife every day?" And when they answer No. The response comes back "So you only beat her every other day?"

A candidate would have to be a moron to guest blog. It's a no-win situation. As an elected official it is a little bit more palatable, but still unlikely. The only way that will happen is if you have to register and your name is posted with every comment. Since that isn't going to happen any time soon, we can skip this thought that serious candidates will guest blog...

Put Foy here to guest blog, or his spin person, that way we can filet him. Again, he's dumb, but he's not that dumb. Studebaker is looking too forward to Dantona getting here, bet there is an axe to grind there, huh?

I bet that Dantona will do it before the election. He surprises people all the time. Remember when people said Mikels would not be beat? Foy jumped in once Dantona showed it could be done.

Dantona isn't scared to confront his own problems. The most negative piece of mail I received about him was from him! I want someone that has it to post it. It was shocking.

"Dunce" is right, Dantona would become a filet for bloggers. Dantona isn't a moron, why go on something that would make him look like a lightweight?

I don't think any elected official would be "fileted" - that gives too much credence to the anonymous rants that appear on this and other blogs. Anyone with a brain realizes which posts should be ignored and which ones are legitimate.

THe elected officials that aren't willing to blog are those that are afraid or feel "entitled" to not respond to the public. It is the M.O. for many in the East County and not quite as many in the West County. Unfortunately for them, blogs like the Dennert blog make it real apparent on who is truly interested in serving the community and who has a personal political agenda they need to manage (sometimes it isn't even their own agenda).

However, ALL of them read this blog voraciously and respond behind the scenes to what occurs. Lots of phone calls, etc. happen based on what is said on this blog.

I can almost guarantee that Dantona will have a guest blog here and Strickland won't. And I don't even know Dantona. I just know the MO for the Stricklands.

East County Republicans for the most part have been in lock-down mode for decades now. Everyone is used to them not answering to the public. Barbra Williamson is the exception and has probably made a lot of people mad. Look at the reaction to doing the obvious - setting up a committee to explore WMI. Why would this make her fellow city council members mad? Because it makes them look bad? Unresponsive to the public? Accountable?

West County Republicans & Dems are a little more responsive because of the demographics. Slightly younger, more even distribution red/blue/DTS, etc.

Digital democracy is here to stay. It is interesting who realizes it and is willing to jump in. Ignoring it won't make it go away - it will just make non-participants look bad.

Katie,

Speaking of digital democracy, how's that website going?

I thought it'd be up by now, it's been, what, 8-9 months since you guys formed? It doesn't speak well for your group that in a digital age you can't field your web presence.

Hope to see it soon.

Voter, hate to dissappoint - but the website is well on its way. Now granted, it isn't the fanciest one because we are on a budget - but it gets the information out.

I've been the pacing item. My mental goal was the end of May. Now it will probably be the end of June.

Thanks for asking - it is just the kick in the pants I needed.

For those of you that would like to join - or send in a donation - please contact KatieTeague@verizon.net.

Mr. Studebaker is an odd duck. both Kieth Millhouse and Mark Van Dam of Moorpark answered questions and neither was really attacked.

But all you want is another chance for your right wing harpies to attack Dantona. It is strange you don't want any actual elected officials, like for example PETER FOY to answer questions.

Why don't you pack up your suitcase of revenge and instead come out swinging for your community? You could concentrate on asking thought provoking questions from people that represent you!

Peter Foy is not available for questions on any blog and that doesn't bother you.

If it quacks like a duck, and walks like a duck, you are likely a member of the far right conspiracy to distract every conversation back to someone not currently officially running and not currently in office. Want to talk about Jimmy Carter? What about Jeb Bush 2016? You sir have only one man on your mind. Odd.

Evidently Peter Foy won't answer non-blog questions either. Last month, I sent him/his staff a question on rumored campaign finance violations and a rumored meeting in front of the Ethics Commission and never heard back.

Fortunately, I had my question answered via a circuitous route and have the primary paperwork in hand. It really shouldn't be this hard.

Foy is no fool and is moving along very well on a steep learning curve. My bet is we will see far more information coming out of his office than we have seen over the last sixteen year. I doubt that he will participate in a blog, but his WEB site will probably put out quite a bit of information. So far, he is doing an outstanding job in representing East County interests and getting more County services to our area. As for Dantona, let's get him on. He remains a shining star in advancing our County in State politics.

LAURA WINCHESTER-
How about attending the CVUSD Board Meeting tomorrow (6-5-07) at 2 pm?
Now isn't that a convenient time for a PUBLIC meeting? How many parents can attend this?
I hope that you might be there and question the mediocre conditions that now exist in the middle and high schools in this district.
Since you are always defending the "gang of 4" and ranting against Mike Dunn, perhaps you can watch what really goes on at these Board Meetings-you may discover the real issues in this school district and they don't include censoring a minority Board Member.
Remember, Linda Parks was censured by the TO City Council a few years back and she won election to County Supervisor by a landslide!! This could blow up in their faces!!
How about taking a stand for the students in this school district
along with social justice!!!
Show us that the CV Dems are a credible organization!!

Brian,

I would like to see SV Councilmember Michelle Foster do a guest blog. She was appointed and then ran unopposed so she has never publically had to run for office and distinguish herself to the general public. Councilmember Foster is an amazing leader in our community and I would like the general public to get to know her better.

One question I have is why the City Council voted to spend $40,000 to run an election when it was an unopposed race. My understanding is that when a school board runs unopposed by statue they are unable to hold an election, only appoinments, in order to not take money away from education dollars. Moorpark School Board did not run an election even though two of their members had been appointed and then when their seat was open ran unopposed, thus saving tax dollars.

Why is it when you go to the SV City Clerk and ask to review campaign records about City Council Members, they want to take your name and address? The County doesn't have this practice and keeps their campaign records on the front counter, making it less intimindating to access the information. When I went to look at SV City council campaign finances I was told that it is standard practice to take anyone's name who inquires about a councilmember's campaign finances.

Duckett everytime you use "Gang of 4" you sound like a real dunce! Hey, Dunce and Dunn sound a lot alike! Maybe you should stop attacking Laura and dance with a man for a change you gutless worm. Guys like you hate for anyone to exercise free speech unless it is the same crap you are spewing! Dunn should do everyone a favor and resign from the Board, then you and he could spend more quality time goose stepping together.

TO DOC (Are afraid to use your real name?)
Since you want to be a punk about it-how about showing up for the Board of Ed meeting and I'll show you how I can dance!!
Your precious Laura is supposed to represent the CV Dems-she insists on supporting corrupt Board members who have neglected the middle and high schools for years-Do you have kids in this District? Well, if you do, stand up like the man you think you are
and speak out for the students-since your girlfriend Laura won't!!
That's my Free Speech-where is yours-Bozo?

Duckett,
You are nothing but a loud mouthed, goose stepping punk, just like your boyfriend Dunn!

Studebaker,

Presented for your entertainment and edification:

You might want to click on this link to the Cato Institute (aka "Libertarian think tank") web site which will present a very convincing case on why before you start a partisan rant against any Democrat, you might want to examine your own party's current chaos and disintegration as seen through the eyes of one of its own insiders.

Victor Gold, former Deputy Press Secretary to Senator Barry Goldwater during his 1964 Presidential campaign and also worked for Spiro Agnew, Georges Bush (senior and junior) and Dick Cheney speaks about his book which explains it clearly enough for anyone to understand: "Invasion of the Party Snatchers: How the Holy-Rollers and the Neo-Cons Destroyed the GOP."

My suggestion, after you have viewed and/or heard the link's content, is that you start contacting your own party leaders to discuss the truth - made painfully obvious in the 2006 congressional elections - that the party membership are no longer supporting their own party which they believe has been abandoned to extremists. The hijackers of the party and destroyed its real message and strength. and the betrayal lies the party's own power hungry leadership.

It seems to this observer that the blogging you are doing ought to be with your own party leadership - from DC to Ventura County - before you start throwing any stones at anyone else.

Laura has a few people very angry. I wish I knew what the anger was all about. Doc and Duckett, please tell us more. In the mean time, I'm sticking with my surfin' buddy Laura.

Mr. "Doc"-
I'll be looking forward to seeing you at the Board of Ed. meeting tomorrow at 2 pm. That is if you have guts enough to show up-
Learn the issues, "homeboy"!!!!!
At least your precious Laura found one "buddy" on her dating site-
congrats, Moondoggie!

M Duckett, nicely done. You've portrayed the face of the neocons here in the County better than any scary speech I could have given.

Unlike you, I have a job so I won't be making a 2pm meeting at the Conejo School Board. But if I did, I'd bring a grill for all the raw meat you'd probably be flinging around.

Thanks Duckett. Some of these services cost as much as $1,500 to join for six months. I'd like to see more dating going on this blog. It breaks the ice and can end up creating long term relationships. I've met Laura once and I thought she was pretty level headed. I'm not sure what is going on with the school board. We have are own bunch of nuts running Simi Valley School District so I haven't had a chance to branch out.
Surfs up Dude. Hang 10 in there.

Mike Hickerson-

You got my point-why have a PUBLIC meeting at 2 pm when most people are working-unless the majority has something to hide-
will this be another Tuesday Massacre?
Be sure to watch the re-run-I'm glad you are interested in this
drama!!

I thought the Ducketts were Democrats. Why are they so gung-ho on right-wing Dunn? Are they left-wingers? Do we have parity right now?

Cathy Carlson from TO here: I posted this same comment on another page of Brian's blog. "Confused" hasn't found it yet, so this is the the backstory on the CVUSD drama. For you new-comers, I'm a Rep, the Ducketts are Dems and we are among the many non-partisan vocal critics of the old dinosaurs on the CVUSD. In spite of our different party affiliations, those of us who support Mike take our civic duty seriously, and we don't appreciate the hijacking of our American representative democracy at school board meetings. This Board majority has disregarded Brown Act articles on open meetings by disregarding voting procedures, and by cutting off comments of public speakers, and not reading written statement cards before voting.

On May 22 I sat in back of Laura at the Conejo Valley Unified School District Educational Board meeting. The first 3 public comments were all supporting Mike's responsiveness to the stakeholders. Several speakers asked the rest of the board to follow his lead and ask the public how they feel about issues such as closing schools, parcel taxes, etc. Mike should be praised for his efforts, not censured. However, Laura sided with the ancient veterans on the Board who don't like Mike asking questions about the management of $225 million. She said she wished Mike would be more of a team player. How ridiculous is that? Would she go up to Sacramento and tell all the congressmembers and senators that they should all "just get along".

Suzanne Duckett, a former pharmaceutical rep, very educated having come from the same neighborhood as I did in Santa Clara County, criticized the old timers. She said they were setting examples as bullies. She said she wished the rest of them would likewise take an interest in the well-being of the students, and get rid of the "ghetto portables" in our overcrowded schools. As she sat down, Laura Winchester said to her companion, "She is an embarrassment to the Democratic Party." I walked over to Suzanne, congratulated her on her speech, shared what Laura had said, and we laughed. Laura got mad, turned around and hissed "Yes, she is."

Don't for a minute try to tell me that Laura in interested in education, or the best management of employees at the CVUSD. She is consistently partisan in her comments, and her agenda is clear: remove any obstacle to her flavor of liberals controlling the public schools.

And as for being a feminist, ask her if she's endorsed any serial seducers lately. When I attended the candidate's forum that she put together for the public with her Democratic Club of the Conejo, their party's candidate got all the buzz. A democrat friend from church saw me and mentioned how great this guy was. I set her straight about his reputation, and that he had put his hands on me right outside that building a few years back in front of a witness. This 70 year old woman couldn't believe it, until her DEM friend next to her admitted that she knew all about him when her son attended jr. high here. And then she said it didn't matter to her, as long as he was doing a good job. THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE between blind partisan loyalty, and critically thinking voters who don't let themselves be led by the nose.

Laura, is it really OK with you if an elected official during a working session says in front of witnesses, "Boy, I'd be all over her in a minute!" when a very attractive woman leaves a room? Do you realize the risk for a lawsuit that would be if that were said of a candidate and she found out? You are very good at "spinning" things your way--let's see you defend this lecherous behavior from your democratic darling.

Laura is a tremendous public speaker, very talented, and very, very good at the the Alinsky method of crowd control and consensus getting. The facts don't seem to bother her. Even though I've pointed out many times that the Conejo had more than a third of its schools below the state minimum 5 years ago (11 schools out of 27 under 800 API points, which is the 75% mark) Laura apparently still believes it is OK to let people believe that we are "excellent", since she often exaggerates the accomplishments of the students, and brown-noses with the union reps and senior citizens on the Board who love her flattery.

Those of us who support Mike understand tough-love. The Board should be good stewards of our money, and Trustees shouldn't be afraid of the Union bullies. The "meanies" here on this blog enjoy insulting us anonymously. Neither do they don't understand that we aren't weak types who can be "flattered" into believing lies, like the Emperor with his invisible new clothes. And we respect ourselves too much to ever brown-nose with corrupt local politicians who are more interested in "marketing" the schools than in managing the business of education. So, Doc, continue to call us names. I will find out who you are through Peggy Buckles, and we will "out" you to the Republican Party. Hope you come tomorrow. Merle is working--teaching disadvantaged kids at a special school--so he will come late. Be a man, Doc, and introduce yourself tomorrow.

Foster Blog,
I am unaware that when you ask for campaign information that the Clerk is requesting your name and address. It is public information and should be given freely, without you giving your name. I will check into this and get back to you.

Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble. Hey Carlson, you're slipping - you forgot to call me a vicious partisan hack, devil worshipper and tell everyone how you know for a fact that I was on the grassy knoll.

Glad to hear that my party's candidate got all the buzz after the school board forum...since we endorsed no candidates in the race, that's quite an accomplishment. I'm really feeling very Rovian right now.

Katie, will you be sending it to Brian to post?

Since most of us don't go please youtube the best parts of the meeting and have them posted on this blog.

Just as I thought...The city of Simi Valley does not require any type of identification when purchasing campaign statements from the City Clerk...UNLESS they are paying for the document with a check, and then we get ID. If, however they choose to pay with cash then no ID is required. Now, having said that, I am sure that someone may have asked, not knowing what the cities policy is, but that is just an honest mistake...

As always, Council member Barb, you are on top of anything that comes up in a split second. Way to go!

To Mike Hickerson-

Sorry to disappoint you, Bud, but I have been a Dem for over 40 years-this school board is supposed to be non-partisan until Sweet Laura got her uninformed group involved.
You missed a great meeting! Be sure to watch the re-run-even though Dunn was censured, the Board Majority ended up looking like
they have no business in their positions.
Oh, and I missed seeing "Doc" there with his $1,000 to start a recall-he should donate that money to the school district instead
to help make life better for the students and teachers.
Sorry I forgot my grill because there was no raw meat-only Didio
trying to look like she knew what she was doing!

Come on Duckett, turn your hate in another direction. I've never seen Laura uninformed. Dunn behaves like a nut.

Heading to the pier. Grab your wax and head up.

Hey Moondoggie-
I think that you have been using too much SEX wax lately-
Sweet Laura is the hateful one and certainly is uninformed about local issues-she may be astute about State and National concerns but "all politics are local"-her speech at Public Comments at the Board of Ed meeting about being a "team player" certainly goes against the principles of democracy.

Hey Moondoggie....don't listen to M. Duck...you can never have to much wax on your board! :)

Barbara Williamson-

How is the School Board situation in Simi?

Will that District soon be ready for a Charter School movement?

Waxed up by 5:30 A.M. and ready to go. It's gals like Barb and Laura that make the world turn. Duck, you and I need to spend an early morning pig dogging on an egg. These gals are bonzer and your claims against them are bogus. Beach bunnies need to be worshipped, not badgered. Be cool and chill my friend. Rewards come in heaven.

Surfs up

Hey Moondoggie-

Tell Barbara W. to do something about the 70+ mph traffic on Royal Ave. instead of being concerned with the drama at CVUSD!

I don't think Barbra can do much about speeding on Royal Ave. And besides, Ducky, don't you think 70+ is a bit of an exageration? Cops in Simi sure do seem to be giving out a lot of tickets and I see them on Royal all the time. An e-mail to the Chief will probably get some attention to Royal if it is a problem. I haven't observed it to be too bad though.

I've always observed Barbra being very focused in local issues. I can't recall her getting involved in other communities.

Hang 10 in there Ducky. Life is good.

To Moondoggie-

Try driving on Royal between 6-7 am and also between 6-9 pm.
My daughter's friend was badly injured in a broadside accident-she was broadsided-at 1st and Royal-on her way to swim practice at Rancho Simi Pool. Also, the speeding by the pool is constant during those time periods. Where is the enforcement?? I have never seen it nor has my daughter who drives to Simi twice a day for swim practice-she drives in the right hand lane at the speed limit and cars are whizzing by. Sort of like Lynn Road-but that is an issue for TO-at least the City Council here is attempting to do something-"where's the beef"? in the Simi Council?
Isn't government supposed to protect and serve?
Many complaints have been made to the City (Simi) and the PD-so far no action!!

Duckett, that is very unfortunate that neither the City of Simi and the Simi Police Department has responded. I hope you have a record of your complaints. Pictures would also be very helpful as far as documenting the problem. I encourage you to go to one of the City Council meetings and mention it during the public comment section.

K.T.-

Maybe Barbara W. will read last post!!

Ducky, I too drive that intersection every day. It is a very dangerous intersection with accidents all the time. The problem is the left turn onto Royal when heading north on 1st St. As far as the speeding, it is fast but I see cops all the time on Royal. The intersection has been improved with the left turn arrow installed not too long ago. It has helped, but I oftentimes see people heading south on First running the red light out of confusion over the green left turn light. Try avoiding the intersection and take Fitzgerald across to Erringer to get to the pool.

Surfs Up Dude

Hello:

I am interested in looking into this question further as I live near and use all these streets mentioned on daily basis at these times. I have never seen the problems that are being discussed from a first hand account.

I also see plenty of police presence during peak times, but these are just my daily observations.

Scott

You must have seen several crashes at 1st and Royal. They are fairly common. On the Royal speeding, I agree with you Scott.

Hang 10 my friend

M. Duckett...The last thing i want to be involved with is the SVUSD. My dance card is filled just paying attention to traffic on Royal, First and Erringer....
Ducky, do you live in Simi valley?

To B.W.-

My daughter is in the swim club that practices at Rancho Simi pool and we drive back and forth to Simi (twice a day) so I feel like a resident. I shop at your Vons on LA Ave. several times a week, buy gas at Arco and frequent your restaurants, so I am helping the local economy.
There are 3 schools on Royal Ave.-Royal HS, Sinaloa Middle, and the elementary-I hardly ever see enforcement of speed laws!!

Ducky, I don't know how you miss all the cops. I can't drive from my house to the freeway without seeing two or three. They drive loop routes on the major arterials 24/7 Many people would say that traffic enforcement is too intense in Simi Valley. Speeding is discussed all the time at City Council meetings. Recently, drag racing on Sequoia Ave. was a big topic and major changes to the roadway were undertaken.

We might not have all City Council members playing All-Stars, but traffic enforcment isn't a weakness in Simi Valley.

Quack, Quack.
Surfs up

To M.D.-

Thanks, but I'll wait for a reply from B.W.

Ducky,
Moondoggie is right. The City of Simi Valley doesn't have a lack of law enforcement, even for speeders. Granted, the PD can't be everywhere all the time, but they do a really great job for the residents of Simi Valley. And a BIG thank you for your dollars you spend in Simi Valley. When I was young....a loooooong time ago I too was on the swim team. What a great life.

Barbara,
Please don't call Mr. or Mrs Duckett "Ducky". I like you and I am afraid it could lead to trouble somehow. The Ducketts in my opinion have a simular to killer bees. One day they are nice and making honey the next they are all over somebody.
I invented a game called fantasy campaign manager with my friends and you just cost me a bunch of votes so please stop..

DOJ, it looked to me like Barb was referring to Mr. Duckett as "Ducky" in an endearing manner as opposed to a derogatory fashion. Need we be politically correct now on this blog? Mr. Duckett was certainly able to throw out the slander to men and women alike. I was actually surprised that he was referred to only as Ducky under the circumstances. I don't think he earned the respect that was extended to him in many of the posts.

To waste knowledge and DOJ-

You can call me whatever makes you feel good-please re-read
previous posts!

DOC thinks he is the "man" and protector of "Sweet Laura,
unfortunately, he doesn't know what the issues are-

My questions were for B.W. - not making "honey".

See...even "Duckey" likes it....
And Waste Knowlege is right. I was only using it in the most endearing way....Same as I would for you "Do J"

Duckett is a quack!

To N.C.D.-

Gee, like I've never heard that before!

Now, do you feel better?

How about using your real name and learn what the real issues are
facing the CVUSD!!

Duckett as long as there are nut jobs like you and Dunn and Carlson running around I will not use my real name, I have heard the rumors of what you guys do to people you don't like!

Don't blame you "Not Crazy Ducky". Ducky is a scary figure and extremely weird.

To W.K. and N.C.D.-

Sorry, but I don't know you or care to but try reading about the issues in the newspapers or on-line. Today's Acorn (6-14) was very enlightening - see the story about Didio.
N.C.D.-are you really scared? Wow-how about worryng about the 2 "Ds" on the school board-now that is scary!!

No Ducky, you haven't changed my mind. You are the scary one. Thank goodness you are in a minority. Power in your hands would be very bad for society.

Quack Quack

To W.K.-

Actually, it is 3 quacks-so please get it right.

What do you know about a minority? I happen to be one-(African-
American), so I am used to not being "in power". Nor am I afraid to drive thru Simi Valley.

What are your credentials? Or are you too afraid to tell us?

quack, quack, quack

I included a video for all Duckett challegers. Watch it carefully. Your about to live it. They are not Ducks.
They float like butterflies and sting like a bees.
May God be with you all.

Now even Ducky is quacking. What is this world coming to. This thread has deteriorated. Laura, your stay has come to an end. I'm meeting Moondoggie for Duck L'orange dinner. We can set the table for one more, Laura. See you there?

Did you here about Mrs. Didio's wipe out moondoggie. Not kewl daddio or didio. It was some wipeout.

Did you hear about Mrs. Didio's wipe out moondoggie. Not kewl daddio or didio. It was some wipeout.

To W.K.-

I knew that the racial comments would come from you eventually-

Are you wearing a white pillow slip to the "Duck" dinner - my great grandfather would find no humor in this!

Why would I want to "earn your respect" - that sounds like plantation philosophy!

You're a sick puppy Ducky. "Racial comments"? I don't have a clue what you are talking about. I don't know you or your race and I certainly didn't make a racist comment. Ducky, you suffer from a inferiority complex and may need expert attention. We enjoyed our Duck L'Orange dinner at the beach. But racism? Ducky, you have a loose screw upstairs.

Don't take it personally M Duckett. She tells everybody they have a screw loose. We have some drama queens running loose who think it is fun turning everything into a soap opera and liberally discuss it.

To W.K.-

So now you are trying to backpedal and deny your lame comments about others-regarding their race.

You need to watch what you say on this Blog-even though there are many diverse opinions here-your feeling of superiority shows through-if you "don't have a clue", re-read what you posted!!

If you are aligned with "Sweet Laura", then I don't have much hope for the local Dems-the struggles and hard work of the past 4 decades are fast eroding-no wonder Cindy Sheehan stepped down.

Quack, quack
Quack, quack
Ducky, you are a vaste wasteland of misinformation. You mix "Sweet Laura" with Cindy Sheehan. You talk about "4 decades" of hard work. I rarely understand anything you say. Soooo, Ducky my friend, I will try no longer. Dinner menu this evening: Canard au Cerises. We will set two extra chairs; welcome Cindy Sheehan and "Sweet Laura".
Ta Ta, my little quacker.

To W.K.-

"Sweet Laura" couldn't carry water for Cindy Sheehan-

Try reading up on current events, you may learn something
about social justice and civil rights (which I am very familiar with)-too bad the local Dems aren't concerned about these issues.
Also, try using your real name like I do-your disparaging remarks are getting old-I may quack but you gobble-

Also, get familiar with US History over the last 4 decades,
especially 1967-there is much similarity between then and now-

People of color will abandon the Dems due to the ignorance about our struggles displayed here by you and other misinformed zealots.

Ducky there are two D's at School Board meetings only when you come because you and Dunn are Dumb Asses!

"People of color"? Where are you coming from? Only you raised the race issue. No one else. You are a weirdo in need of upstairs assistance.

Quack, quack

To NCD

You are the one that brought up Mike Dunn-this site is for CV Dems-
Mike Dunn's office is non-partisan, "homeboy"-do you know what that means?

Sounds like you are aligned with DOC and WK-you need to read the rules of this site-when does your racial disparaging begin?

If you both were in school in CVUSD, you would be expelled for violating their bullying policy!!!

To WK-

There you go again-your "cracker" upbringing is showing through!!

And stop gobbling-you sound like a real turkey!!

M. Duckett,
Don't blame Democrats for what some of the people say here. What you say won't change my mind about African Americans. I had relatives that were saved by African American Soldiers in World War 2 from concentration camps. The white soldiers were afraid there might be some kind of germ warfare experiments in the camps. So they sent the African American soldiers. Just another thing to feel guilty about I guess.

Please try and be nice to the whities...

Ducks migrate. Ducky has lost his flock. Fly, fly, my Ducky.

Ducky, don't eat too much corn this season. Wouldn't want to see you gavage and end up as foie gras on our table. Some of the blog gals and I will enjoy, over a fine Sauvignon Blanc. Thinking of you as late afternoon hunger sets in. Laura, foie gras, my Dear?

To WK-

Instead of stuffing your over-stuffed faces, how about helping us
(American Legion Post 123) prepare Care packages for the troops in Iraq this weekend-or doesn't that fit into the Conejo Valley Dems agenda?

Don't choke on the feathers!!

Ducky, I'm a Republican since 1968. Sorry.
As for care packages, my Brother is in Iraq and we send stuff every week to quite a few guys.
Glad you are helping out though. Perhaps you do have a good side.
