The California Republican Assembly is gearing up to have a local meeting. The CRA is described by many as a conservative grassroots group dedicated to pushing Republicans to the right.

Here is the description from Steve Frank's blog:

For my readers in Ventura County great news. The California Republican Assembly is back, bigger and stronger in our county. There are now five clubs throughout the county.

For the first time, all of the clubs will have a joint meeting. This is the place for conservatives and activists in Ventura County. Come to the meeting, meet a real conservative Supervisor Peter Foy and join with others in the cause of freedom. It is June 21!

Mark your calendars, send emails, send press releases to your local newspapers, contact your new CRA members, call your Republican friends which may want to join the CRA and invite them to our first meeting. We need to have a great turnout. Invite your local "Republican" elected officials and ask them to join the CRA.

When - June 21st - Thursday - Time - 6:30 PM

Where - "The Pickles Deli" in Newbury Park ........go to www.picklesdeli.com for directions and menu. Address: 1940 Newbury Road, in the Kohl’s Shopping Center

NOTE: Everyone will be responsible for their own food and beverage purchases.

Guest Speaker - County Supervisor Peter Foy

CAPC ( California association of political centrists) readers, will you folks be there?

old school conservatives "are" not the new far out right.

only angry white men need apply...

This old school conservative was feeding the homeless today. Where? :-] I'm not telling the "star". Join me in pushing out the far right with there only agenda is getting to the wacko voters to vote republican. We need a third party. The "green light" party.

For my readers (all 10 of them) in Ventura County great news. The California Republican Assembly (KKK) is back, bigger (up from 9) and stronger in our county. There are now five clubs (and 10 members) throughout the county (Simi north, Simi West, Simi East, Simi South and Moorpark).

For the first time (like a virgin), all of the clubs will have a joint meeting (circle jerk). This is the place for conservatives (white boys) and activists (white boys) in Ventura County. Come to the meeting, meet a real (right down to the veneers) conservative (bought and paid for) Supervisor Peter Foy (boy toy) and join (the brotherhood) with others in the cause of (curbing personal) freedom (raffle prize Idiot's guide to Terror Alerts). It is June 21!

Mark your calendars (that thing with numbers and months), send emails (spam), send press releases to your local newspapers (can someone fax the Acorn), contact your new CRA members (both of them), call your Republican friends which may want to join the CRA (the ones that won't answer the door when you knock) and invite them to our first (and probably last) meeting. We need to have a great turnout. (or else Tony says he'll never talk to me again) Invite your local "Republican" elected officials and ask (threaten) them to join the CRA.

Guest Speaker - County Supervisor Peter Foy (who wants to be anywhere but in his own district that night, since the task force on Waste Management is meeting)

Come join the party! Mike Dunn, Cathy Carlson, Darin M. Henry, Audra and Tony Strickland, Tom McClintock, and several of our anonymous posters should be there. We are taking over Ventura County. Look how we got Peter Foy in place!

No mainstream Republicans are welcome.

Foy has done a reasonably good job so far at the County. It is a sad day if he ties himself to this bunch of nuts. Anything to do with Steve Frank is the kiss of death. These aren't Republicans, they are a pack of rabid dogs who eat their young. Peter, we trust you will make an appearance, but realize that Frank only supports one person and that is who he sees in his distorted freak show mirror every morning.

If you are going post pictures after wards to show how successful the event turns out to be.

Where's Ron and Voter and Cathy Carlson? How come they haven't weighed in yet on this thread?

I think a bounty should be offered for pics of any non-white people attending this event. Or for women that don't look lobotomized.

LOL! HAHAHAHAHA! Steve Frank is the biggest loser there is! Arnold paid him to bring in the conservative vote during the Special Election and it was the worst turn out ever for conservatives! Please Foy keep working with Steve Frank, that way we will be sure to see you leave at the end of your term!!!!!

The CRA website has only two clubs listed on its website. Darin Henry (employee of Audra Strickland) is listed as president of the Simi-Valley Moorpark Club and Joe Giardiello is listed as President for Ventura County. Steve Frank is the Senate District 19 Director - which I believe is Tom McClintock's district and the one that both Jim Dantona and Tony Strickland are interested in come 2008.

It is interesting to read the CRA mission statement. It's pretty clear gays aren't welcome. Not sure about non-Christians or Jews.

I know Tom McClintock has always been a big support of the California Republican Assembly and vis-versa. He is their golden haired boy.

What I love is their statement on term limits:

"Term Limitation: We believe that public service is a privilege. We support term limits for public officials, not as an ideal but as a necessity to dissuade career politicians. It is the people who should rule, not an elite with little accountability."

So, that career politician with little accountability part - does it apply to everyone but Tony Strickland? If the revision of term limits passes next February (chances are slim to none), McClintock will step down anyway, right? I mean, if it's one of your core beliefs...

I will be watching from the grassy knowl.

Dearest Real Press Release,

Your editorialized press release was brilliant and very funny. Thank you for contributing. I rest happy and humbled in your shadow.

Did Steve Frank really write that? If he did he sounds like one of those soldiers lost in the jungle years after the war. Somebody give him a hug.

Can I go out on a limb.... I think the Republicans are combining groups because the most one of the groups has is four people. Now they are going to have a group with a bakers dozen.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Anyone have a list of local CRA members so we can avoid them?

What makes the CRA so crazy? Their statement of beliefs sounds pretty much exactly like the GOP's official Platform:

http://www.ontheissues.org/2004_GOP_Platform.htm

As far as I understand, Steve Frank is a Jew, so that should clear up their position on non-Christians, or at least Jews.

Why do they exist then? By nature they must be somehow different otherwise why exist in the first place? They claim to be the conscience of the Republican party and to drive it towards its base ideas.

Which means it is against the governor and outside the mainstream of California politics.

Not that there is anything wrong with being outside the mainstream. Just a fact.

Thanks Steve,
You really must have lost what little of your mind you had left. You know like most people the Republicans are in total disarray. This is a typical Medicine Man show. Totally phony. Steve Frank is the most hated person (Republican) in this State let alone this county. I have never met this Katie Teague or Leslie Cornejo but I'm certainly more in line with their thinking. By the way did any one notice that Tony Strickland and Steve Frank are never seen in the same room at the same time. Could they be one in the same, my MONEY says YES.

Frank is a way out nut who hates life, but is a coward to end it. He is the poster boy for the pro abortion crowd. Frank offers nothing to society. Foy should head for the nearest exit door if this weirdo is in the same room.

I've asked this before, and didn't get an answer. What do people here have against Steve Frank, other than that he's a conservative Republican? Or is that all it takes too be considered a crazy, supporting the Republican platform?

You have it all wrong Owen. It isn't Frank's politics that people hate, it is Steve Frank. He would eat his young to benefit himself. The little man has no friends. Frank is a danger to society because he follows no rules, has no honesty, no religion, no bounds to right and wrong. Again Owen, politics aside; Steve Frank is not a person to be trusted or respected. He isn't even worthy of being called human. You asked Owen. This is why he is so hated.

Spoken by a person who's afraid to sign his name to his attack.

Worthless drivel, written by a coward.

So what's your last name, Ron (if that's you real first name)?

Does CRA stand for "Crazy Rightwing Assh*les"?

Ron,
I'm not afraid to sign my name. Steve Frank is a sick, mean and angry person who plays by no rules. I know because I have know Steve for about 15 years. He double crosses everyone and does not have one friend in this town.

Don, you must know him. Your summary is right on target. Thank you for stating it so concisely.

I haven't met Steve Frank - I just know that he decided I wanted his newsletter and then wouldn't let me off the list - despite repeated requests. I don't like what his newsletter has to say - it is anti-everything and offers few viable solutions for the problems facing California. The issues I have first hand knowledge of is invariably reported incorrectly so I can only assume the rest of his information is equally incorrect.

He is in charge of the 19th District CRA and considers himself a spokesperson for the Republican Party. Do you agree or disagree with this assessment? Should Peter Foy rethink who he chooses to associate with given the sentiments expressed on this thread? I certainly would question the integrity of any public official that showed up for such an event.

Does anyone have a link or copy of the article that the Wall Street Journal did on Steve Frank. They described him as rotund with a red face and sweaty brow as he worked himself into a lather about starting a new "conservative republican party". They really seemed to mock him as I recall, I will try to locate it, I think it ran approx in the year 2000 it was on column one front page of WSJ maybe around June to Oct, I loaned it to a friend and they never returned it to me.

Why does Tom McClintock have a link to the California Republican Assembly on his website that he just launched? He just fell off the pedestal.

I have met Steve Frank and he is a fat, sweaty, red faced, body odor smelling, grease ball, slime bucket, nut job! When he ran for Mayor he got like 1% of the vote and Greg Stratton wiped him out! If McClintock is in bed with Frank then I feel soory for Tommy Boy McClintock! Maybe that is why Tommy Boy has lost four times for state wide office!

I have crossed paths with Steve Frank several times over the years, and have found him to be disagreeable and obsessive.
While I can agree with him on some issues (such as favoring the sale or lease of the state lottery to private business) he often lets his anger get the best of him, and then he switches into "scorched earth" mode.
Supervisor Foy can and should speak to as many groups and constituents as possible, but he should stop anyone from touting that he is "theirs," or that they own him.

That's funny! Peter Foy is "owned" by Steve Frank. Who's your daddy Peter?! I knew these right wing nut jobs were incestuos, but this is ridiculus!

Doesn't look like Frank is going to get any awards in town.

He must have one friend. Please, someone speak up.

Rudy Giuliani likes him for his right wing rolodex.

Arnold paid for that rolodex in the Special Election and guess what? It was the worst turnout by conservatives in California history! Orange County only had a 28% turnout! LOL!

I have SF's rolodex on E-Bay right now and some guy named Osama so far has the highest bid.

Ever notice that when Cathy Carlson posts age and Catholics always seem to come up?

Is she thinking Democrats are controlled by the Pope?

Just sayin'.

Maybe they will get Republican Central Committee member Herb Gooch to talk about the media.

Pelosi said that the Iraq war was a "grotesque mistake." The American people, of which only 14% have confidence in the Congress, seem to have realized that electing this batch was a "grotesque mistake."

"By way of contrast, 69% of Americans have a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in the military, which tops the list."
blogs.usatoday.com/gallup/2007/06/what_do_hmos_an.html

Hmm, does this make some of regulars on here extremists, as they are fond of calling others?

Part of the reason congress gets low ratings is BECAUSE they haven't stopped the war.

You quote how many people trust the military without mentioning that most people don't hold it against them what Bush did in Iraq. They didn't vote to attack Iraq, they just followed orders.

A better question would be what percentage of Americans would support us staying in Iraq even if it meant at least another 5 years. Would you support that Owen?

That number would be about as popular for us as it is for Rudy to stop talking about 9/11 for money and instead actually work on the problem ( The Iraq study group he was fired from because he wouldn't go to the meetings.)

12 American troops have been killed in the last 48 hours in Iraq, the surge has failed! Why does Mike Dunn support the war in Iraq?

A better question would be what percentage of Americans want to see us WIN the war in Iraq?

While I'am here. I consider myself to be ultra consirvative, but I find Steve Franks politics to far to the right for me.

I sure blew spelling in that last post. I will try to remember to spell check in the future.
