The Ojai Post has a full story about Steve Bennett announcing he is running for re-election to the Board of Supervisors.
I did past blog entries on Steve Bennett that you can read for background information.
Has any potential rival candidate stepped forward? I hear rumors of Mike Osbourn of the Ventura County Republican Central Committee thinking about running, but I also hear rumors he is thinking about the Ventura City Council. Mike, I guess people like making up rumors that you are running for things.
Here is a link to Steve Bennett's updated website.

If any of my readers would like to provide us with updates about the Ventura City Council campaigns in 2007 ( they have off year elections) let me know by e-mail and you can write on the front page instead of just as a comment.
This includes if you work for a candidate or already support a candidate. You will disclose that on the top of your entries.
Steve Bennett is untouchable. Why else would the robo calls not want to be named? Republicans it would be safer hunting with Dick Cheney. Steve Bennett will destroy anything you can send his way. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Steve Bennett has no competition cause his constituents won't allow themselves to be bamboozled by those who'd tell you that progress means never having to say you're sorry....for cutting down oaks trees.
You go, guy!
Steve Bennett will be elected again because he doesn't have to worry about a landfill expansion in his district.
Or a brewing Rocketdyne scandal.
Looks like citizen task forces are becoming the local political trend. WMI. Rocketdyne. Box Canyon's end run around County officials, direct to Sacramento. The Knolls task force to survey and identify the impact of over-developing the area. If this keeps up we may see an alternative network handling local matters before Ventura Avenue or Tapo Canyon is even aware of them. I guess that's what democracy is all about, though!
PS for local politicos: You do all know that each frustrated citizen group has the potential to become an angry political organization, don't you?
GS: Exactly.
Popular and still very relevant quote:
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

That's right ML,
The Republicans forgot. They will surely be reminded in a couple months. No more friendly fire just the good old fashion unfriendly kind. Dick Cheney and his friends are a imminent threat to the United States of America and they need to be dealt with accordingly.
People try and ban freedom all the time in America.
You can burn books but you can't burn blogs....
Right Brian?
O.k.,
but please no more unwarranted raises for departments that end up getting criminal warrants a week later. I find it very disconcerting.
