Hannah Beth Jackson's website

If you have small campaign news send it in. For example, Hannah Beth Jackson has her campaign website up at jackson4senate.com and you can sign up for her mailing list. I suggest you also sign up under a creative name. Maybe under the names of the Ventura County Republican Central Committee members?

I haven't been getting updates directly from Tony Strickland or Hannah Beth Jackson's campaign. If you see something that should be posted forward it to me. You would be surprised at the internal campaign communications and other e-mails sent to me. Thanks to all of my sources.

Go Hannah-Beth!

Marie,

You are quick! This entry hasn't been up for very long. Do you know the next event in East County Hannah Beth Jackson will be at? The Simi Valley Street Fair is coming up and many candidates have a booth there.

Uh, well ... I'm still debating Scott in the archives (56 comments between us so far. When wonks collide!) and I went over to check if he answered me and here this was! Good timing! I always like to be the first one to post on a HBJ entry.

I am just a volunteer in her campaign, Brian. I don't have all the answers for you.

If anyone out there is interested in hearing her speak, please come to A Rally for Our Children at 4 p.m. Friday, April 18 at Buena High School, 5670 Telegraph Rd., Ventura.

Speakers so far:

Assemblyman Pedro Nava
State Senate candidate Hannah-Beth Jackson
Congressional candidate Jill Martinez
Ventura County Superintendent of Schools Chuck Weis
Ventura Superintendent Trudy Arriaga
Ventura Board of Education President John Walker
Ventura Board of Education Vice President Mary Haffner
Ventura County Board of Education Trustee ML Peterson
VUEA President Stephen Blum
California Teacher’s Association Secretary Dan Vaughn
Parents, students & teacher

Plus the fabulous Buena drumline!

Brian,

Maybe the lack of updates are because:
(a) they have not figured out what to say; or
(b) they are reluctant to say anything; or
(c) they have problems with their PR folks; or
(d) some or all of the above.

Went to HBJ's site and found that (with apologies to Gertrude Stein and Oakland, CA): "there is no 'there' there" when it comes to her stance on issues - details of which do not appear when you try to click on them.

On the other hand, Strickland must be running a "stealth campaign" I could find nothing even resembling a functional web site is up for his campaign anywhere. Is he still in this race?

Politics as usual: neither seems terribly interested - at this point - in communicating anything meaningful with the electorate.

(Suddenly, I have an impulse to yawn.)

Did you sign up for his updates?

Harold, there is a very clear disclaimer on Hannah-Beth's site that this was a "soft launch." It just went up Friday. That is, there remain some elements still to be hooked up. (In other words, you may click on a link that seems to go nowhere.)

They posted that they'd be working on the details over the weekend, and the site should be complete by Monday.

Brian put the link up early before all was ready to roll. The site is very interactive and obviously took some time to build. I think you'll find as you go back to it over the next week that all will be in place.

Even incomplete, it looks better and offers way more information than the Strickland site. Hannah Beth's positions are very well known through the Speak Out California site. It's her competitor's positions I'm wondering about.

How many of the voters in this district do you believe even know what Speak Out California is?

Jill Martinez has her new 2008 Campaign Web site up. One of the most interesting pages there, is the biographical links page, as it gives some background of her history of service and some general info about Jill as a person.
