The Tony Strickland for State Senate campaign has announced the support of many Simi Valley City officials and other Simi Valley citizens. You can click on continue reading to read the whole list. Rep. Elton Gallegly is one of the most prominent, but so far it looks like a who's who of the Simi Valley Republican Party. Most of them could be relied upon to endorse the GOP candidate in most campaigns.
The list includes the entire city council except for Michelle Foster. Anyone know why Michelle didn't join with the rest of the council? The other prominent names not mentioned are Republican school board members Eric Lundstrom and Janice Difatta,
On a personal note, thank you to Tony Strickland and his staff . Tony has put together a quick responding and young staff. Thanks for your help! I will write about it more later.
I will have a Hannah Beth Jackson campaign update next week. But in the meantime enjoy their new campaign widget:
I post almost every press release that is sent in. If you don't see enough from your favorite candidates or causes it isn't me!

SIMI VALLEY OFFICIALS OVERWHELMINGLY SUPPORT STRICKLAND
State Senate Candidate Sees Widespread Support in District's Second Largest City
(Simi Valley) Tony Strickland, in his bid for the 19th District Senate seat, has compiled a long list of supporters and endorsements including an impressive list of public officials from Simi Valley. The list includes current U.S. Congressman and former Simi Valley mayor Elton Gallegly, Supervisor Peter Foy, Simi Valley mayor Paul Miller, Simi Valley Councilmembers Glen Becerra, Steve Sojka and Barbra Williamson, former Simi Valley Mayor Bill Davis, former Ventura County School Board member Carla Kurachi, Board of Education member Dean Kunicki, as well as Rancho and Simi Recreation and Park District Members Elaine Freeman and Gene Hostetler. Peggy Sadler also endorsed Strickland.
Simi Valley, the second largest city in the 19th Senate District, will play an important role in the November election. The support of such a large number of public officials in one city will go a long way towards helping Strickland gain the support of voters in that area.
"I am supporting Tony Strickland for the 19th Senatorial District because I know Tony will be responsive to the needs of the residents in the district." Said Councilwoman Barbra Williamson
As a member of the Assembly representing the 37th District, Strickland had the honor and privilege of serving portions of Simi Valley. Public safety was a top priority of Simi Valley residents and Strickland worked hard to maintain a safe environment and high quality of life for the city's residents.
Simi Valley Mayor Paul Miller agrees that Tony is the best candidate to represent his city in the State Senate. "There is no doubt in my mind that Tony Strickland is the right candidate to represent Simi Valley and the rest of the 19th Senate District," said Miller. "He has shown the ability to focus on and prioritize the issues that are important to our residents and has been a tremendous leader when it comes to the fundamental role of the government which is public safety."

The Republicans can circle the wagons all they want. How many people are going to vote for Tony because the Simi Valley City Council a bunch of other koolaid drinkers endorses him? Who cares. They are outnumbered.
I am interested in why Michelle Foster did not endorse Tony Strickland.
Maybe she wanted to hold out until she listened to the candidates argue for our votes?

I heard that the big oil companies are ready to give Tony millions for his campaign because he is their boy and Tony will make sure prices at the pump stay nice and high!
How does the state senate control oil prices?
How does the state senate control oil prices?
I can answer that one - They don't.

Look at the pic, it's friendly tie guy Tony. I am only voting for the cool surfer guy. If we don't get him back I won't vote.

The Hawaiian shirt guy showed he was from Ventura. But seriously, a suit by the beach on a sunny day?
The senate could begin the process of forcing oil companies to share revenue with the State, just as every other oil producing state in the nation does, except California. If those oil companies can buy enough senate votes they can block that process.

Let's see. Mongo is the same one who claimed that his best buddy Bush was not putting oil into the Strategic Reserve to drive up prices for his overlords at Exxon. Turns out, he was. In fact Mango, even most Republicans just voted for a veto proof bill to stop him from doing it. Also this past weekend lots of Republicans were on tv saying they are scared about November given they have lost 3 House seats in a row to dems in areas that have always been rep. In VC the dems now have a 4,000 member lead, good job Osborn! Face it Mango, Arnold was right when he said if being a republican was a movie no one would go see it. In fact your good friend Arnold has said he will now support gay marriage. I'm not saying you are gay, but I think if for example Mongo and Larry Craig want to wed they should have that right! Arnold also said he will not support the anti gay marriage prop in November.
Mongo's Daddy (you should be so lucky), your babble is fairly incomprehensible, but I'll try and reply.
For one thing, Bush was not putting oil into the Strategic Reserve to drive up oil prices, you bozo. He was doing so in order to have enough domestic oil on hand to deal with a major emergency, such as an major earthquake, flood, or other disruption of our ability to take delivery of foreign oil to support our transportation needs (perhaps, even an oil embargo by your buddies, the Iranians).
BTW, you need to come out of the closet completely, Mongo's Daddy. Your friends on the State Supreme Court will certainly appreciate it.
His Republican friends on the State Supreme Court you mean, don't you Mongo?
The fundamental role of State Government is public safety according to Mayor Paul Miller? Miller has been smoking too much loco weed. Have another look at the budget, Miller. Where is public education on your list?
Mayor Miller is correct. That's the core responsibility of all government - first and foremost. To provide for the safety of its citizens.
Where have you been, CAP-812?
Nope, Miller is all wet. Counties and Cities provide police services in California. The State is responsible for safety on the highways through the CHP. Education is paid for by the State. You are all wet Mongo. Time to grow up and smell the roses.
CAP-812, so you're saying the CHP is not a vital public service? What's your point, assuming you even have one?
The core responsibility of government in general is public safety. But the first priority of state government isn't police. Police are usually under local control.
I am interested in Mongo explaining how the first priority of the park board isn't parks but police officers and public safety.
I can't follow Mongo either. Most likely because he is just wrong. The primary purpose of State Government isn't the CHP. That is the point, Mongo, my friend. You are far too simple.

Mango I was serious that if for example you and Larry Craig want to wed I support your right to! In terms of your good buddy Bush he was ordered to put oil in the Strategic reserve by Darth Cheney when he met with the heads of the oil companies to write the energy policy. Why is it Mango that you and the other Bushites are scared sh*tless for the minutes of the meeting Darth Cheney had to be seen by the American people? Don't you believe in open government? I see to that Bush now has an approval rating of 23%. Also a new poll today showed that in Ca a majority want dems to handle the budget, not Arnold or reps! Why do you think Mango that republicans have lost three house seats in a row in districts they should have won? LOL!!
CAP-812, thanks for making my point so well for me. Your listing of these State agencies, many of them nebulous, duplicative, and highly symbolic of the State's over-regulatory nature, makes the case perfectly for a reduction in State government to just the vital services the taxpayers want and deserve.
Simple, perhaps. But, on point and relevant, of course (as always).
Oh, and as for you, Mongo's Daddy, I think the best way to deal with you at this point is to arrange to meet you in a dark alley and beat you into a senseless pulp, yes?
The only thing I agree with you on is when you described your comments as "as always". Indeed you are.
No, you missed the point of my comment again, CAP-812. "As always" was in reference to how relevant and on message my points are. Wish I could say the same for you...
"On message"? Only in your perverted mind, Mongo. Your mantra is without factual basis in most cases.
Mongo, the only thing predictable about you is your chanting of a mantra that has no factual basis. Keep chanting. It makes for a good laugh each day.
Maybe Tony can tell us why Phillip Morris Tobacco company in Richmond, VA (Altria Client Services) can tell us why they recently donated $50K to the VCRCC? That was really nice of them and I expect there are no strongs attached! Better yet, maybe Hannah-Beth can find out. I wonder where that $50K is headed?
Oh, I will. Laugh all you want, my friend. I'll just keep on winning elections.
It's likely going towards some local elections that the VCRCC is very interested in winning - specifically the Ventura City Council race and the next Board of Supervisors race.
A primary objective of the VCRCC is to use its fund-raising capability to get more Republicans elected to local office in the County. You can expect a flurry of "member communications" on behalf of Republican candidates for local office in upcoming elections.
Since there is no Ventura City Council election or Rep running for BOS, I can almost guarantee it is going to one of the Stricklands. Bets anyone?
Name the time and place Mango. I would love to get together, I'll even buy you a Coke. Wear a bright yellow shirt so I know who you are.

Strickland is indeed the best candidate that money can buy!
And Jackson is the best candidate that "elitist" money can buy.
Now that makes sense Mongo. Strickland's career is that of a self serving political whore and Jackson has supported her convictions all her life, but you call Jackson beholding to "elitist" money. I can't follow that at all: public education, women's rights, clean environment. . . And you call that "elitist". I suspect you are poor white trash, Mongo.
CAP-608,
I understand the many ways Mongo can bother you ( as he has annoyed me many times), but try to keep it classy.
I am surprised that the VCRCC would take tobacco company money. Forgetting the ethics of it the potential attack on them seems to dangerous.
Any VCRCC supported candidate could be attacked for "refusing" to take tobacco money.
Expect to see someone dressed up as a cigarette butt following their candidates around.
:-) :-)
OK, Brian, that was the best laugh I've had in awhile. I will get busy sewing a cigarette butt costume for you. What size?
Mongo accused me of not having a sense of humor on my blog. I told him I just didn't think he was funny. You, Brian, are funny!

BTW, CAP-608, CAP-812, or whatever fake name you're hiding behind today, check out my response to your white trash babble on the previous Pallant thread.
