( David Hare at a political registration and education day at Frontier High School in Camarillo.)
The campaign for the 37 Assembly District Democratic nomination ( Currently Audra Strickland R Moorpark) between David Hare and Ferial Masry seems to have all the momentum going in David Hare's direction.
Anyone hear of Masry campaigning outside of Democratic clubs?
Being that Tony Strickland and Audra Strickland will both be on the ballot would David Hare or Ferial Masry work best with Hannah Beth Jackson as a quasi running mate?

DAVID HARE JOINS POLITICAL EDUCATION/REGISTRATION DAY AT LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL IN CAMARILLO
Democratic 37th Assembly District Candidate David Hare took time out of his busy campaign schedule to speak with and help students register to vote at Frontier High School in Camarillo this week .
Calling it "The most fun and rewarding part of the campaign so far", Hare said that he was energized by the students response to his presentation, and the lively exchange of questions and discussion about the upcoming elections.
Students expressed concerns about the rising cost of gas, availability of affordable health care, the issue of gay marriage, the Iraq war, minimum wage, and many other subjects.
"I think we sometimes underestimate young adults these days. They are very aware and concerned about the issues and problems facing this county, state and nation. They know what's going on and need to be included in the dialogue, and we need to encourage them to get involved."
In three hours, David spoke to 6 groups of Seniors, with about 20 in each group. About 45 new voters were registered, almost all of them Democrats, with a just a few registering as Decline to State.
Hare was equally impressed with the Staff and teachers at the school, of whom he said "These teachers are so committed to this school its' students. It only reinforces my determination to get to Sacramento to fight the education budget cuts, and to find solutions that will keep our schools opens, and our teachers on staff. We can't afford to not invest in our most valuable resource - our kids. And the schools with kids that have special needs or circumstances especially can't afford to lose funding. Just one teacher can make such a huge difference in these kids' lives."
Hare promised the students and staff that he would come back next year after he's elected to the Assembly, and looks forward to participating in Frontier Political Education/Registration day again.

Re extra points: You mean *other* than the fact that "we can't afford not to invest in our most valuable resource"?

I don't *see* a sledgehammer under there, but the night is still young.... :)
Wow. That's a....powerful video. Deeply freaky, but powerful.
Hare worked the crowd at Conejo Valley Days, every single day, and has been going to diverse events throughout the county such as the Destino Foundation, National Latino Police Officers Association Banquet, Rotary Club in Santa Paula and more. He's in this thing to win it and if the Democrats will give him a shot by choosing him in the Primary, he will raise the money and do the work to beat Audra, and very importantly, be great on the ticket with Hannah Beth Jackson. He would bring a lot of support from the Agricultural community, which is huge in this district.
I like what I'm seeing from Hare more and more. I think we need to go with a new candidate in this race. I'm definitely leaning towards going with him in June. Ferial has already lost twice. Time for new blood.
Any word if David Hare will be at the Simi Valley Street Fair?
I found David Hare to be a motivated, free thinking, honest and smart individual who will make a great representative of the Democratic Party.
Ferial Masry has energized the voters! She teaches High School Government every day and then goes out to talk with voters in Democratic Clubs, Service Clubs, Forums, Women's Groups, Teachers, Labor. She is endorsed by many of the largest Labor groups, SEIU, UAW, California Federation of Teachers and with good reason! She is a union member and supports workers. Hare's flyer received today doesn't even have a union bug on it!!! Shame on you, David. You are getting some bad advice!!!
She's energized the voters into a loss to Audra Strickland by 14% the first time, and almost 15% the second time.
She also lost the endorsement of the California Democratic Party this year.
Campaign finance records also show she is way behind in fundraising.
Let's talk about campaign flyers. I saw Ferial's and it's the same one she used last time, with the same tired quotes from 2004 andv 2006, and one that is a flat out lie, where she took a quote from the Star comparing her to Audra Strickland, and made it look like it was said about David Hare. How ethical and democratic is that? Shame on her.
How about you email me a copy of the flyer so we can judge ourselves if it unfair? I haven't seen it yet.
How many of you have seen it? Was it being mailed out?
Why nominate Ferial against Audra in 2008, when she lost to her in 2004 by nearly 15% and again by almost an identical margin in 2006?
It is rational to do so: "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." (Ben Franklin)
Time for change: David Hare.
To the good people of the 37th district constituency who have yet to follow up on any of the candidates claims of good citizenry and care for the well being of others, may I suggest a place to start. Google: Eco-Logics Environmental, Incorporated, and check out the first two results from the City of Los Angeles. These two PDF documents tell a different story than what is told in David Hare's website. If I understood correctly what I read in those documents, Mr. Hare has some questions to answer to this constituency. Some candidates are great at the face to face meet and greet, which is why those of us who vote really need to educate ourselves more thoroughly as to who they really are and what they truly mean to accomplish when running for office. Sorry if I sound too cynical, but I think all voters should be able to make informed decisions based on facts and not warm fuzzy feelings made by a short conversation with a politician.
It's clear from reading the majority of the above blogs that they're from the Hare camp, especially the one that stated Ferial lost the Calif. Dem. Party support. Mrs Masry didn't loose the support, she won it but at the last minute David Hare decided to run and things got murky at the convention.
By the way, any blogging about this will be from Hare supporters so read it with much doubt.
Mrs Masry is a strong community worker, she had to gut to challenge the Republicans when everything was against her, she's been working to change the county from Rep. to Dem. for many, many years not months.
I looked at David Hare, closely, as well as his core supporters and decided to vote for Ferial. I still have doubts about all the fines David's business had, my business never had any, and I really don't like the fact that he donates money to Republicans.

Any proof he donates to Republicans?

Here you go ... check out page two. Eco-Logics (Hare's company) donated to Peter Foy's campaign in 2006. Isn't Foy a conservative Republican?

Certainly makes you question his political Allegiances?
