( If Democrats really want to win they are going to need some very creative minds. Check out this ad from Oregon that is a huge hit. In the comments section try to write a script for an anti Gallegly ad)
The Simi Valley / Moorpark Democratic club will be hosting several local Democratic candidates this Wednesday night at their club meeting.
Republicans, who do you think would be the strongest challenger to Rep. Gallegly?
Mary Pallant has shown to be more effective at organizing the party base ( which she would need to do to build a team to take on Gallegly) but Jill Martinez's background might be able to reach out to DTS voters more.
Either way, this campaign is Gallegly's to lose.
Oh yes, Michael Tenenbaum is also running. He has the most friends on myspace.
Gallegly has made his myspace website so that only his friends can see his stands on the issues and his record of conservative leadership. You can click here to see what it looked like before he blocked the general public from viewing it. Last check he had 3 real friends besides the 1 you start with.
Meet Our Candidates!! This month the Simi Valley/Moorpark Democratic Club is inviting all of our local, state and federal Democratic candidates to show up and speak at our general meeting May 21. Come and meet your candidates, ask them tough questions, volunteer to help their campaigns, donate whatever you can afford and inform yourself in the process.
Please be sure to visit our newly remodeled website for meeting location and additional club information.
Are you an interested political participant, a candidate or a campaign worker? Check out our Calendar page for local and county-wide events. Click your event of interest and get more information...
The Club will be voting on a revised set of By-Laws at the next meeting. Check out the Club Info page before the meeting for the current and proposed versions. We will discuss the changes prior to the vote.

We are building the infrastructure to help Democrats run for office in Simi Valley & Moorpark.
We are here and we need your help!!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED IMMEDIATELY
The SVMK Club is staffing two precincts for the 6/3 primary election and we need more volunteers.
Click HERE, look for our Adopt-a-Poll Team Leader Jodell Haws and click her name to send her an email letting her know you want to help.
We have a great location. It's easy - it's fun - and it's a great way to help democracy in action!
Simi Valley / Moorpark Club booth at the Simi Street Fair was a great success!!
We had so much fun that some Republicans were complaining about the crowd in front of our booth!!
We registered dozens and dozens of voters and added many new people to our email list.
The Republican booth down the way - not so busy...
Their candidates were standing around talking on their cell phones instead of talking to voters!!
We want to welcome all of the new contacts we have made to join us at our next meeting or three. Come get involved and join the discussion.
Find something that you enjoy doing and help us take back our country from the criminals who are running it!
A WORD FROM THE WISE
Speak the truth, but ride a fast horse. Old cowboy saying
"Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves": William Pitt
"I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do. What I can do, I should do. And what I should do, by the grace of God, I will do." Edward Everett Hale

Our featured guests will be Cindy Piester of Citizens for Impeachment and Dr. Dennis Loo - Associate Professor of Sociology at CSU Pomona
Cindy is the daughter of a decorated World War II Marine, and the wife of a Viet Nam Veteran. She did not buy into the lies BushCo was selling during the lead up to the Iraq Occupation. She has been working in opposition since before the first bombs were dropped. Almost a year ago, she formed Citizens for Impeachment in Ventura County in order to work for the preservation of the rule of law and the U.S.Constitution. Cindy is working around the county with others to further the impeachment effort.
Dr. Loo is co-editor of the excellent book "Impeach the President: The Case against Bush & Cheney" and member of the national steering committee of World Can't Wait. Dennis is also the initiator of the World Can't Wait campaign "Declare It Now - Wear Orange" which got major promotion at the Oscars recently. He will be selling and signing books post-event.
Come learn about the people's remedy for bad/corrupt government and decide for yourself if investigations that could lead to impeachment should be taking place in Congress right now.
Please feel free to forward this email to anyone who might be interested in attending our meetings.
