I am not making this up. Marta Jorgenson is running again for congress.

If you remember she dropped out and endorsed Jill Martinez. Well, she is running again.

Will she show up to the candidates forum in Simi Valley?

I will update this later but I am about to leave.

She currently has 3 actual friends on Myspace,

Which is the same as Rep. Gallegly last I checked.

Anyone hear what happened between her and Jill?

UPDATE: Click on continue reading for a statement from Marta Jorgensen explaining why she jumped back into the race. If you have questions for her leave them as a comment.

Thanks for the update Marta. I will keep posting things as you send them in.

Press Release - For Immediate Publication 5-19-08

Marta Jorgensen Re-enters Congressional Race

Marta Jorgensen, after dropping out of the race for the 24th Congressional seat, has dropped back in. "I let my circumstances of not having enough money to run the campaign overcome my commitment to serve the people and bring a new attitude to Congress," she said. "I slipped, I fell, I am back."

Ms. Jorgensen says, "I want to bring the campaign out of the back yard tea parties and back onto the public stage comprised of the entire district. Voters in the Central Coast say they are dismayed that there is no one campaigning for the Congressional race. Ms. Jorgensen was approached by several voters throughout the district who said they were not going to vote because they did not feel they had a candidate. "The 24th District needs to have someone represent the entire district, not just a candidate's own backyard," she states.

Ms. Jorgensen is now back in the race for the 24th Congressional District because she believes she is that person

Nice Elton impersonation. She just needs to let her hair turn gray and put a pillow under her shirt and do nothing for twenty years and it's perfect.

If she couldn't choose who to represent us without admitting she was wrong how could we ever trust her with real power?

I thought she couldn't afford the gas to Simi Valley?

Marta,

Please come to our candidate's forum for Drinking Liberally Ventura County on Wednesday, May 28th.

The only candidate we have confirmed is Jill, we are waiting to hear about whether or not we will be seeing Mary or a representative.

We will be contacting you with the details and the presubmitted questions, and the format, shortly.

She said on another entry she couldn't afford the gas to travel to Simi Valley.

But maybe if she is back in it she will be raising money.

Or is she back in to help Martinez team up against Pallant in the forum?

I don't understand the motivation yet. I am waiting for more details.

Hey all --

Indeed, Marta is back in the race. I spoke with her on the phone today to confirm her attendence at Drinking Liberally's Candidate's Forum, which is hap[pening next Wednesday at 7:00 pm at J.J. Brewsky's in Camarillo. We will be asking the candidate's questions, followed by a public forum in which the audience will be asking the questions. Be there or be square!

Mark.

Yes Mark -- be there or be square :)

Marta and Jill have confirmed and Mary or a member of her campaign is still up in the air.

This will be exciting! Hope everyone can make it!

Very funny Heather!

Incidentally... ... ...why hasn't Pallant confirmed her attendance at probably one of the most populated forums with ALL of the other candidates present?

Waiting Patiently,

Mark.

Heather is wrong. Marta won't be there. She can't afford the gas. Or, maybe Heather will give her a little gas money. Poor dear...

I find it odd that Marta jumped back in because Jill Martinez wasn't campaigning in her part of the district but Marta Jorgensen didn't make it to the Simi Valley debate last night. Seems she isn't campaigning across the district either!

haha, Mongo...who knows...we'll see if Marta shows up. She said she would, so I guess her viability as a candidate will be shown by whether or not she keeps her word.

What is this situation with not having the gas money to travel to Simi Valley? I guess I missed that part of the conversation...

btw, I do not believe I will be giving ANY of the candidate's gas money....

Poor dear! :)

Heather, Marta actually made the gas money comment herself in a previous post here. Brian, I'm sure you recall her statement.

C'mon, Heather, spring for a little cash for the poor woman. Where's your heart. Poor dear...

I am growing increasingly more concerned with the lack of funds these candidates have...how do they expect to take on the war chest that Gallegly has if they seriously cannot afford gas money?

Mainly, when I was involved on the "inside" of the Dem party and the campaigns, it seemed that your viability as a candidate was dictated by how much money you raised....

Does anyone have recent numbers of dollars for the three Dems?

And, nope, Mongo, no cash springing from me! I've got my own gas bills to pay to make PRODUCTIVE use of my time...

Heather, I agree with you. Keep your gas money for your own PRODUCTIVE use of your time.

I'm afraid Marta is spending all of her time jumping in and out of congressional campaigns. Now that is a WASTE of time...

Campaign finances can easily be seen here:

http://www.fec.gov/finance/disclosure/srssea.shtml

Martinez has about $97,000 in debt, Jorgensen shows about $925 in debt, Pallant shows the most cash on hand.

It is a fair question if a campaign has any plans to raise a decent amount of money.

They don't even ask! They set up a website and wait for it to come to them. But they aren't building up the grassroots.

I don't understand Marta. She is just making harder on the other candidates, especially Jill Martinez. Why did she endorse Jill and then take it back?

Are you guys talking about me again?
