what about the mayor seat?
Barbra,
I have names and contact information already for the story I am working on.
Gina Hardy and Gerald Smith?
Are they involved in any local charitable/non-profit work, work on any boards, PTA, neighborhood council, anything?
Scott,
To answer your question: I believe so. But I will report back when I have their bio's and such.
In the meantime, anyone have their email addresses?
I've known Gina since she was a little girl running around in her Mom and Dad's feed store on Los Angeles Ave.; PJ's Feed and Tack, named after her folks Paul and Jean Flath. She has been very active in breast cancer awareness and research and helps to raise money for this and other charities year round. She and her husband Tom are also active in youth sports. Tom is a very successful local tradesman.
Gina will make a great Councilmember one day. This time around, however, I'm sticking with the tried and true, Barbra and Steve. They have the experience and have been doing a great job of running our City. The City is constantly getting prettier, remains relatively safe, has its new, beautiful mall, movie theaters and plenty of things for our youth to enjoy.
Gina, thanks for joining the race. New faces make for better government. Barbra and Steve will be even better Councilmembers knowing that fresh, young members of our community are willing to give of themselves to serve.
CAP-812,
Will you get her email address for me?
Gerald is actually my dad. He has been interested in running for city council for quite a wile now. He does not have much experience and he does believe that the city is headed in a good direction, however he has a fundamental belief that the people need a choice in any election. Gerald wants to focus the election on bringing more business to Simi Valley in an attempt to allow for more work and better wages for people that may have difficulty raising a young family in the valley. He grew up in Simi Valley, but had to move away when he started his family (possible my fault) because it was too expensive. He believes that the same thing should not have to happen to other young families. People may have a belief that the incumbents are safe and yield a secure bet on the future, but I have known my dad for 18 years and I believe he will make a good city council member. Please vote for him.
Eric,
Please have him email me so I can post information about his campaign. My email address is briandennert at yahoo.com
