( Here is a video of the mysterious Timm Herdt to help spot him in public. Remember, his name has two M's in it. If you spell it wrong you should expect to experience his full wrath unleashed.)
Star Reporter Timm Herdt has an article up about the early money race between Hannah-Beth Jackson and Tony Strickland.
So far, as expected Tony Strickland is way ahead.
The Hannah-Beth Jackson campaign has many promises from the state party to help her out. But will they put the money in early enough to inspire confidence in local Democrats? If they wait too long they might take away some of the momentum she has going.
The state party is hiring many people to register Democrats locally as I have posted about a few times.
What do you think? Besides this blog and other blogs do you see either campaign out there working?

So far there's no evidence the State Dems can figure out how to pull it's thumb out of it's collective arse, let alone figure out how & when to support Jackson in SD19. In a race where both candidates seem to be willing to let name recognition be the big issue, it's business as usual in SD19.
My guess is Strickland's running the appropriate race, ie, keeping out of the public eye & hording cash, while Jackson's failing to introduce herself to the voters while the cost to do so is still relatively low. Looks like a Three Mailer-and-You're-Out sort of race.
More like the State Dems know it's a crapshoot. According to Tim Herdt, she's going to be way behind Strickland in fundraising when the new reports come out. That coupled with the fact that she's not generating any heat on the ground or in the press, will have a chilling affect on what the State Dems will be willing to do. Sure they're putting money into voter registration, but that's an investment that helps the party overall, and is also being done with an eye towards Nava's run for statewide office in 2010.
Ths Hannah-Beth Jackson campaign needs to communicate more to inspire confidence they are in this to win.
When was the last time we heard from them?
As a DTS I've already gotten 3 or 4 mailers from Stickland's camp. Not one from Jackson's team.
Without appealing to DTS voters early and on local issues HBJ won't stand a chance.
GS,
Would you mind scanning and emailing them to me or getting them to me somehow so I could post them.
You would think the Strickland campaign is paying me with all of the free publicity I give them!
Sorry but I usually toss them in the trash with all the junk mail before I bring the rest up to the house. I'll try to remember in the future.
