Antiwar Activist Cindy Sheehan To Campaign In Ventura County

| | Comments (20)

( A pro-impeachment attack on Rep. Nancy Pelosi)

Mary Pallant, former candidate for the Democratic nomination, ( CA 24 Currently Gallegly ) is hosting infamous, famous, well known peace activist Cindy Sheehan, who is running against Rep. Nancy Pelosi.

Who is a Republican to cheer for?

I am surprised that Mary Pallant would bring in somebody that divides local Democrats.

Why is it she has a more impressive presence on the local political stage than the actual Democratic nominee against Rep. Gallegly?

Who's going?

Cindy Sheehan is up next for Mary Pallant's Ventura County Speaker Series. Please join me for this rare opportunity to hear from one of the most courageous women of our troubling times. Cindy has been speaking out against the unjust Iraq occupation, fighting to restore our rights, and continues to work on ending the worst political debacle in the history of our nation, the Iraq War. Her book, "Peace Mom: A Mother's Journey Through Heartache to Activism" will be available for purchase and signing. I am continually amazed at her heroics and tireless efforts. We will hold a small event after the talk to help Cindy raise money for her campaign. A separate $25.00 donation to her campaign is suggested for this private event. Don't miss this extraordinary woman and the ensuing discussion of "can one person make a difference?" See you then! Mary Pallant

Why is that other blog copying your posts? They even used the same video!

We don't need this modern day Jane Fonda coming into our community. No to Sheehan!

Mary Pallant's forum is always interesting and informative.

From my perspective, starting the war in Iraq was much more devisive and destructive to our country than anyone trying to end it. The drums of war continue to be heard not just in Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan, but now in the former Soviet satellites Georgia, the Ukraine, and Azerbijan. Twenty years later we awake to discover the Cold War never really ended. And in strolls John McCain, with the same swagger that George Bush once displayed, committed to expend ever more American blood and treasure for a nation that still proudly exhibits a large statue of Josef Stalin in his former Georgian birthplace.

Really, has McCain ever met a war he didn't like?

No Sheehan, we don't need her in our community. We just might hear an opinion that we don't want to hear. How frightening. Lets burn books too. China has the right idea. Keep Sheehan out "of our community".

She's a traitor and an opportunist. We don't need her shooting her big mouth off about how George Bush destroyed the world, blah, blah, blah, blah...

She's pathetic!

"Well, in all my years I ain't never heard, seen nor smelled an issue that was so dangerous it couldn't be talked about. Hell yeah! I'm for debating anything."

Brian,
I am not trying to be divisive. I am trying to stimulate dialogue and debate. I had thought that is what a small ‘d’emocracy is all about? Issues must be brought to the forefront, uncomfortable as many may be, if they impact our lives. I commend Cindy for turning her heartache to activism. The Iraq Occupation is the worst foreign policy debacle in the history of our nation and yet we are heading into our 6th year. Ron Suskund has revealed evidence that challenge our constitution yet again and we still have no exit strategy.
I am very proud of my country and I will continue to bring out speakers that address issues, pleasant or otherwise, that the public should be informed about.

Mary,

Thanks for reading and commenting on my blog.

I think it is really cool you bring in speakers that don't all agree with each other.

I wouldn't walk across the street for Cindy
Sheehan.

While the name Cindy Sheehan appears to be a household name by media standards, here are four names that are not as well known, but should be.

Jason L Dunham

Ross A. McGinnis

Michael A. Monsoor

Paul R. Smith

Test yourself before clicking the link. Have you ever heard these names? Have they or their families captured the popular imagination as Cindy has?

Now, go ahead and click on the link. Find out who they are, if you didn't know. Read their stories.

To me, these heroes are amazing.

Jason L. Dunham, Ross A. McGinnis, Michael A. Monsoor, Paul R. Smith are all heroes who died needlessly and tragically in a war that did not have to be waged.

They gave their lives for their country and their brothers in arms but they also died for a lie and for the vanity of our "commander guy". Their blood cries out for the truth of their sacrifice.

Justice requires that

George W. Bush

Richard B. Cheney

Donald H. Rumsfeld

Paul D. Wolfowitz

stand trial for the premeditated murders
of the four fallen heroes you mention as well as the other 4140 others who have laid down their lives for these criminals.

Thank you Cindy Sheehan for not allowing your son to die in vain.

Scott, what have you sacrificed lately to further our glorious war effort? Please don't hide behind the heroes because that only makes you look as deceptive and as cowardly as Bush and Cheney.

Thank you for agreeing with me that these Medal of Honor winners deserve way more attention.

They deserve way more attention than Cindy, you, or me combined.

Amen, to your first comment.

To your second comment I can only tell you after having met Cindy Sheehan, she is not running for Congress for her own sake or to seek attention to herself. She seeks to draw attention to the failure of the Democratic leadership to stand up to the War Machine run by Bush, Inc. and is working to hold our representatives accountable for what they've done or not done in recklessly wasting the lives and the limbs of our troops to preserve their own political hides.

To be sure, Ms. Sheehan isn't a perfect messenger. She doesn't have movie star looks or a blue-blood political pedigree but she does have one thing that is worthy of admiration and respect: the courage of her convictions.

I am eager to met and hear Cindy Sheehan. I have the greatest respect for this woman who goes forth in honor of her son rather than let his memory and worth fade silently behind.

Also, I am deeply disappointed in Nancy Pelosi's apparent lack of concern for human life, Constitutional elements of democracy, and the oath of office that she pledged to this nation.

I applaud Cindy Sheehan's courage and commitment.

You'll be disappointed, Jurnei. Trust me, I've heard her speak before and her comments ring hollow.

Her whole campaign started out as a noble effort to honor the memory of her son. But, it has turned into a scathing, vitriolic, partisan rant against all Republicans. She is pathetic to watch and her comments are highly anti-American, anti-patriotic, anti-freedom. She actually makes many comments in support of Al Quaeda and other terrorist countries and organizations (like Iran).

She makes the lame, ignorant, naive statement, for example, that all we need to do is be willing to sit down and negotiate with terrorists and they will respond in-kind.

Yeah sure, Cindy. They will laugh in our faces, consider us weak and pathetic, and move forward with their plans to kill and destroy us and everything we represent. That is their mission. That is their stated goal. That is their reason for existence.

Don't forget their No. 1 slogan - Death to America!!!

"Her whole campaign...has turned into a scathing, vitriolic, partisan rant against Republicans"

If this is true, why then is Ms. Sheehan challenging the most powerful Democrat in Congress, Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi?

Remove your own partisan glasses No Sheehan! and you will see that for some Constitution and Country still comes before party and politics.

God bless Cindy and may her son rest in peace..

Cindy is an island in a sea of stupidity..

Don't let your kids die in the Stupid War

Well, Ghost, I must admit, you got me there. I guess, if I had to choose, I'd rather have Cindy Sheehan than Nancy Pelosi. Now is that making a statement, or what?

Nancy Pelosi has even worse approval ratings than George Bush right now. How pathetic is that!
