Hannah-Beth Jackson honors Santa Barbara County Firefighters from David Pritchett on Vimeo.
I was going to compare the endorsements between Hannah-Beth Jackson and Tony Strickland but that section of his website hasn't been updated yet. He also hasn't updated his alternative energy platform beyond this statement:
Reducing Our Dependence on Foreign Oil
As Vice President of GreenWave Energy Solutions, a company created to harness the power of ocean waves, Tony Strickland is helping to invest in new, innovative, clean and renewable energy sources to help reduce our dependence on foreign oil and help jumpstart California's economy.
For someone that has a few adverts up about alternative energy you would think he would post if he favors subsidies, higher taxes on some forms of energy to make alternatives more competitive, mandates that energy suppliers increase the amount of energy they buy from alternative sources, or removing regulations for alternative energy companies trying to build power plants like windmills or hydro power.
If you see his energy policies somewhere please leave a link.
In the meantime enjoy the video.

It was so great of her to do this event to honor the firefighters who worked so hard putting out the fires in the hills behind Goleta and Santa Barbara. These guys are my heroes.
I had a friend who was worried sick the whole time that his house would go. It was within a mile of the fire.
Another policy that Mr. Strickland would be wise to support is that of a ban on Environmental Extortion (Greenmail) against power projects. Currently the San Francisco law firm of Adams, Broadwell, Joseph and Cardoso has filed dozens of 100 (or more) pages of objections against wind, solar and conventional power plants across the state of California. ALl with the intention of forcing the contracting authority to sign a union-only Project Labor Agreement.

Kevin,
What do you mean by another policy? So far I don't know any of his policies on alternative energy except that he is part of a company that hasn't produced any energy yet.
Do you support mandates that require energy companies to buy more alternative energy? Do you think Tony Strickland does?
What about higher taxes on some energy producers to pay for subsides for alternative energy?
What does he support?
What Kevin Korenthal didn't mention is that he is a conservative blogger and recently ran for the LA Republican Central Committee
I don't think he was trying to keep it secret.
Most people are intent on building up blog readership and would have it in the URL.
On the other hand, he could use a fake screen name.
HERE'S STRICKLAND'S PLAN: He wants to fool voters into thinking he's somehow worried about the planet, get elected and then vote to help out every polluter who gave him money.
Among bills dealing with renewable energy and energy efficiency he voted AGAINST:
SB 1078 (Sher) passed in 2002, requires investor-owned utilities such as Southern California Edison to obtain at least 20 percent of the electrical power they supply from renewable energy sources. They must increase their renewable energy portfolio by at least 1 percent a year until they meet that 20 percent goal.
SB 280 (Bowen). Would have required all new state buildings and publicly funded schools to exceed current energy efficiency standards and to follow Green Building practices, as determined by the state.
SB 1939 (Alarcon). Requires locally-owned utility companies, especially irrigation districts that also provide electric service, to provide energy efficiency and rate discount programs for low-income utility customers.
SB1078 (Sher). Establishes a renewable energy portfolio standard requiring electric utilities to increase the amount of renewable energy they purchase by one percent per year until they reach at least 20%.
AB 844 (Nation). Requires the California Energy Commission to set standards for fuel-efficient tires, which must be displayed at tire retailers so that consumers can make an informed decision to improve fuel efficiency.
AB 1685 (Leno). Requires non-renewable energy sources to meet ultra-clean emission standards and extends the Self-Generation Incentive Program, which provides cash incentives for homeowners and businesses to install distributed (on-site) electricity generation technologies like photovoltaics, fuel cells, and micro-turbines.
AB 736 (Hancock). The California Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS) has adopted a set of criteria for school buildings, including energy and water efficiency, indoor air quality, and lighting, that not only saves energy but also improves student learning and performance. Would have required school districts to meet CHPS standards to qualify for post-2006 bond funding for new or modernized schools.
My heroes are the private sector taxpyers and business men...who inspite of taken a daily pounding from obscene taxes....get up everyday and go to work....
Well, here we go again, the hypocritical, tobacco-money taking, illegal firefighter ad promoting, tax the bejeezus out of us, liberal, left-wing Taxin' Jackson, up to her old dirty tricks again.
Tony the Scumbag only cares about feeding at the taxpayer trough like a hog! Tony the Scumbag Strickland only cares about the big oil and tobacco companies that stuff money in his pocket to make sure that Tony stays as their beeyatch! Hannah-Beth Jackson has my vote and the vote of rank and file firefighters who all know the real Tony the Scumbag!
I do not think that higher taxes on traditional forms of energy is going to get us off of fossil fuels. Tony and I and most conservatives that lament the burning of fossil fuels realize that we need a plan that weens us off of gas, oil and coal. T. Boone Pickens (though his plan is full of holes) has one thing correct. In order to get off oil, we must first get off of foreign oil. That means we need domestic production increases in oil, gas and coal while also developing the fledgling alternative technologies like wind, solar, tide and bio-fuels.
But I'll say it again. If special interest groups don't stop trying to get their piece of the alternative fuel action, we'll never get off of fossil fuels. End of story.
