The Thousand Oaks campaign office for Hannah-Beth Jackson is this Thursday. Click on continue reading for details.

Who's going? If you want me to post a photo of the event, please email it in. I don't plan on attending as of now.

Tony Strickland's supporters are also planning to go negative early. Click on continue reading for a press release about their planned attacks on Hannah-Beth Jackson.

At the same time Tony Strickland's campaign has an ad up. Here is the youtube version of it.

And here are some photos from Tony Strickland's team out at a Ventura parade. Do you think both candidates will be in the Simi Valley days Parade about a month?

Thanks to the Tony Strickland campaign for sending me the photos to post.

The Democratic Club of the Conejo Valley is hosting a candidate's forum Wednesday night with State Senate, State Assembly, and Congressional candidates scheduled to appear. Click on continue reading for details.

I went to Donna Prenta's house for a garden party to support Hannah-Beth Jackson on Sunday. There was about 30 plus people including school board members from Simi Valley and Moorpark. I took some photos but none of them came out great. Have both candidates been contacting pretty much every school board member across Ventura County?

Here is the press release about Tony Strickland's supporters going negative:**

Press Release

Far Right Wing Activists and Insurance Companies Launch
Negative Campaign against Hannah-Beth Jackson.

It didn't take long. Supporters of Tony Strickland will begin airing a TV spot attacking Hannah-Beth Jackson in the highly competitive State Senate District 19 today. Public information on file at KSBY and KEYT broadcast television stations in Santa Barbara show that a group called the "California Taxpayer Protection Committee" will be airing advertisements attacking Hannah-Beth Jackson beginning 8/13.

They paid $52,750 for the time on these two stations.

The Committee has received over $125,000 in funding from large insurance companies this year. They have also received $20,000 from Howard Ahmanson Jr., a far right-wing activist who has poured hundreds of thousands of dollars into campaigns to elect extremist candidates.

Ahmanson told the Orange County Register in 1985, "My goal is the total integration of biblical law into our lives."

The most recent California Taxpayer Committee campaign filing can be found at:

http://cal-access.ss.ca.gov/Campaign/Committees/Detail.aspx?id=1287571

The Committee is closely allied with the consultants who work for Tony Strickland. Strickland's general consultant Johnson/Clark has been paid over $112,000 by the Committee in recent campaigns. The firm placing the advertising for the anti-Jackson Independent Expenditure (Voter Strategies) is also placing the advertising for the Strickland campaign.

"Clearly, this is the opening shot is what will be a massive campaign by Tony Strickland and his corporate sponsors and extremist political allies to smear Hannah-Beth Jackson," stated Jackson consultant Parke Skelton. "Hannah-Beth Jackson has stood up to the insurance companies to protect consumers and homeowners. Tony Strickland has consistently sided with the big insurance companies and against the interests of our families."

Hannah-Beth Jackson served in the California State Assembly from 1998-2004 during which time she authored over 60 pieces of legislation that were signed into law by both Republican and Democratic governors, improving public education, increasing public safety, improving access to health care, protecting the environment as well as protecting the rights of consumers. She is the Democratic Party nominee to replace term-limited State Senator Tom McClintock in an open seat in the 19th Senate District, which includes large parts of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties, and a small portion of Los Angeles County, and cities of Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Santa Clarita, Camarillo, Moorpark, Lompoc, Ojai and many others.

Here is the news from Democratic Club of the Conejo Valley:

The August meeting of the Democratic Club of the Conejo Valley will be on Wednesday, August 13 at 6:30 PM at the Conejo Recreation and Park District Hillcrest Center, 403 W. Hillcrest Drive, 91360.
Our Eye On the Issues team will be presenting a candidate forum for the Democratic candidates for the 19th Senate District, the 37th Assembly District, and the 24th Congressional District that will be taped by Time-Warner for later broadcast.

Did he actually say "create higher paying jobs" on that ad? Last time I heard, his phony energy company's employees were working for free because they were employed elsewhere as his campaign staff.

Please get a hold of the Radiation Rangers to find out more about this project.

I see Strickland staffers in the parade photos.

The only thing Strickland's ads offer is evidence that his party is so damned scared of running on traditional issues that they are advising all candidates to choose "alternative energy" & "energy independence" as their anchors BECAUSE they are such uncontroversial issues. Its happening all over the midwest, too.

What we may see is the Kerry Effect, where Strickland tries so hard to be like Jackson, by pushing "energy" and downplaying his Far Right agenda that he ends up being the Voters' second choice.

Notice the line under his name, on the sign being carried by the blonde? Wasn't Tony a Republican...at least up until Abramoff's conviction?

The staffers are marching in order to preserve those high-paid taxpayer funded jobs, nothing more, nothing less.

Boy, you guys must really have something to fear with all this paranoid whining. I guess Hannah-Beth cannot stand on her own two feet and argue the issues. She'd prefer to have her minions out there blogging away with negative, shallow, meaningless hit pieces. Typical...

Whiners-
When there is a pattern of political behavior, agendas and donors, then politicians and their staffs become predictable. Once they are predictable they can be stopped.

Seriously Brian... I love reading your blog but the krispe creme jokes and picking on the kids in the pictures just isnt cool, as the webmaster of this blog its your job to interject and throw idiots like these two out and spank them like them like the 5 year olds they are... If you want to keep your blog within any sort of credibility I suggest you put the kibosh on this sorta stuff ASAP

I think Cap and Nobodyoplpous need a reality check. Being middle aged and trolling around on a political blog isnt cool. Nor is picking on people in the picture...

Yawn.. Burnouts!

Maybe Brian will do it when Steve Frank quits letting people post anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim rants. Rock bottom vile.

I wouldn't touch a blog hosted by Steve Frank. That man cannot be trusted with your information.

gopblondie is probably Mike Osborn pretending to be his wife Mary.

Anti Semitic posts? LOL

Mr. Frank is Jewish

Man you guys make my day! This blog always brings a smile to my face

Nothing new at all here. The far right wing kooks have always supported Stickland, a lifelong professional politician who has NEVER held a real job outside of goverment.

GopBlondie,

I have said over and over that if someone says something inappropriate to email me and remove it. I do that because when you post complaining about a post I have to go through and delete other comments too otherwise it doesn't make sense what they are talking about.

For example, once I delete the posts you were complaining about it makes you look like you are whining about something far less obnoxious.

I have told the candidates and staffs of almost every major campaign ( Including multiple people on Tony Strickland's staff) the same information.

As far as deleting the posts you are complaining about, I erase comments that attack somebody for their looks quite frequently.

I don't control the types of comments other blogs keep posted.

Thanks for reading and commenting. Please email me in the future.

Even worse then that he lets his bloggers get away with that crap. He can't even stick up for his own religion!

Trying to fool voters can backfire when the facts are set out showing this candidate to be fabricating lies by talking about energy efficiency policies, environment and trying to reinvent himself as environmentally friendly. Tony and Audra Strickland are not Democrats. They are extreme right wing Republicans and they are not going to get any OBAMA votes here!

Looks like Strickland staffers to me in the pictures - what's all the fuss?

I know professional precinct walkers when I see them... Yeah.. These guys are ringers... No wonder they don't need Katie and Leslie anymore.

I've walked a lot of precincts and and registered a lot of voters, but never marched in a parade except as a band parent.

I have also walked alot of precincts and registered a lot of voters. I've also organized a lot of rallys. And marched in one parade. And maybe did a pro-life march - I can't remember. But I never did a Strickland rally or an Elton rally. I don't even remember being asked to participate.

I do remember doing a lot of big Support the Troop rallies and getting ZERO response from all the elected officials except for Lois Capps. Brian Miller, CS for Elton, showed up unexpectently at one of them but that was it. That's when I started to notice that talking the talk did not mean walking the walk for people who depended on the troop's goodwill. The Pro-Life people have had the same experience.

I did all walks, rallys, voter registration on a volunteer basis and I'm sure there are volunteers in the parade. THere are also some staffers which is common.

Just looking at the photos, it seems like it was carefully coordinated - down to the colors being worn. You can't do this with unorchestrated or spontaneous rallys - so I expect it was invitation only.

I could be completely wrong on this - I don't get e-mails from either campaign.

Gee Katie, I wonder why you haven't been invited to participate in a Strickland or Elton rally? And you seem to be such a fan!

GOPBLONDIE,

I support Strickland as I assume you do as well but enough with the childish comments. Brian's blog does have credibility. You obviously haven't been around long enough to know much about his blog or be familiar enough with the campaigns of either candidate.

Q: How do you make GOPblondie's eyes twinkle?
A: Shine a flashlight in her ear.

Q: How do you make Hannah-Beth's eyes sparkle?
A: Propose a tax increase.

GOPBlondie is just another non de plume for Mongo Flamo and we all know who he is.

Tony the Scumbag piece of crap, no morals or ethics, hog at the taxpayer trough going negative, gee, what a surprise!

GOPblondie,
How can Strickland be in favor of family values when he takes money from tobacco companies that usually cause the head of households to die?

If you're are so proud of being Republican put in on your signs.

Hey NOT OSBORN, I like the good positive message that you give out. Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?
