FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
An Evening with Vincent Bugliosi
The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder
(VENTURA, Ca.) -September 28, 2008. The success of Vincent Bugliosi, in his quest to hold Bush accountable for the deaths of our military men and women who have been killed in Iraq has gained a greater likelihood of happening in the near term, with the promising candidacy of Charlene Dennett who is running for state district attorney in the state of Vermont. Vermont has 35 towns which passed resolutions to impeach Bush and the town of Brattleboro has passed an ordinance to arrest Bush for war crimes if he should enter there terroritory. With such wide spread agreement amongst the citizens of that state, Dennett is a powerful contender in that race.
Vincent Bugliosi, prosecutor extrordinarre and author of the New York Times best seller, The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder, will be speaking in Ventura County Oct. 10 at 7 PM at the beautiful Poinsettia Pavilion located at 3451 Foothill Road, Ventura, CA 93003. Bugliosi will be signing his book afterwards. Free admission with purchase of his book at the door. Otherwise admission is $8.
In his career at the L.A. County District Attorney's office, Bugliosi successfully prosecuted 105 out of 106 felony jury trials, including 21 murder convictions without a single loss. His most famous trial, the Charles Manson case, became th e basis of his classic, Helter Skelter, the biggest selling true crime book in publishing history.
In The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder, Bugliosi presents a tight, meticulously researched legal case that puts George W. Bush on trial in an American courtroom for the murder of over 4,000 American soldiers fighting the war in Iraq. Bugliosi sets forth the legal architecture and incontrovertible evidence that President Bush took this nation to war in Iraq under false pretenses--a war that has not only caused the deaths of American soldiers but also over 100,000 innocent Iraqi men, women, and children; cost the United States over one trillion dollars thus far with no end in sight; and alienated many American allies in the Western world.
As a prosecutor who is dedicated to seeking justice, Bugliosi, in his inimitable style, delivers a non-partisan argument, free from party lines and instead based upon hard facts and pure objectivity. A searing indictment of the President and his administration, The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder also outlines a legally credible pathway to holding our highest government officials accountable for their actions, thereby creating a framework for future occupants of the oval office.
Vincent Bugliosi has this to say, "I set forth an air tight legal case that proves beyond all reasonable doubt that George Bush took this nation to war under false pretenses, a lie, in Iraq. If justice means anything at all in America, we have no choice but to bring George Bush to court on murder charges for the deaths of over 4,000 American soldiers."
Vincent Bugliosi calls for the United States of America to return to the great nation it once was and can be again. He believes the first step to achieving this goal is to bring those responsible for the war in Iraq to justice. With Congress having, thus far, stalled impeachment efforts, trying the President for murder in a court of law for sending our military men and women to their deaths is a war based on lies may be the last recourse of the American people.

Progressive Democrats of Ventura County are a co-sponsor, as stated in my email notice that I sent out. I usually do not like to co-sponsor as it usually evolves into who will take credit and be at the front of the room. I do, however, like to assist when I feel the information should get out to a broader base in the community as it is really not about "who" is in charge of getting the speaker, but rather "who" will be speaking and the information to be disseminated. I look forward to hearing from Vincent. I first met him just after the 2000 election when he wrote, The Betrayal of America. I invited him to speak to Valley Democrats United and he was very compelling.
So will they be impeaching Bush this month before the election, or next month after the election? And won't Congress members be at home campaigning? They wouldn't touch this with a ten foot pole.
Too many angry liberals with too much time on their hands. For goodness sakes, the guy is going to be out of office in January. But that isn't good enough for some people who want to string him up like Mussolini. Be careful what you ask for.
Bubba,
I agree that their chance has passed. But IF you think he committed impeachable crimes shouldn't you support holding him accountable?
First of all, anything is impeachable. All it takes is an act of Congress to begin impeachment hearings. If that is our standard then every president is subject to impeachment on any number of things. But once the president is out of office the issue of impeachment becomes moot.
Now if a president is guilty of an actual crime they can certainly be prosecuted once they leave office. After Nixon resigned there are those who still wanted him prosecuted for the Watergate cover up. However I'm not convinced that prosecuting a president after the fact is good for a nation. History looked favorably on President Ford and his pardon of Richard Nixon. In retrospect it just seemed that the nation needed to move on from Watergate and Vietnam. George H W Bush decided to use his power of pardon to put an end to the ongoing Iran/Contra investigations that threatened to continue well after Reagan left office. Personally I think that the impeachment of Clinton was a huge mistake that continues to be felt in our nations politics to this day.
GWB will be out of office in a few months. For the good of the nation we all just need to move on. Prosecuting him would be a waste of effort and would have no positive results.
Agreed, Bubba. It makes you wonder what these lefties will do about after Bush leaves office.
The cottage industry that has sprung up around Bush-bashing and blame America first will cease to exist. Some of them will undoubtedly have to return to their communes and make beaded necklaces and flower wreaths.
Angry. Damn right I'm angry!
It says in the Good Book that there is a season and a time for war, a time for peace, a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing. In these times, it is time to be angry at a government that is asleep at the switch. With the support of John McCain, George Bush has led this nation into a war in Iraq we did not need to fight and an economy that favors Wall Street over Main Street. George Bush and John McCain continue to sell the country off to the highest bidder as debt and the worthless paper it represents soar beyond comprehension. The Constitution is imperiled, the Military on the brink of exhaustion, and our infrastructure crumbling.
Vincent Bugliosi is a serious man and I will take him at his word that G.W. Bush should stand trial for cold and premeditated murder. At the very least he should still stand trial for impeachment because, if convicted, he stands to lose his lifetime pension. Not that he needs the money. It would just royally piss him off and possibly send him to jail where he and his Turdblossom friend rightfully belong.
Mary Pallant has a lot of class setting the record straight and continuing to promote open and free dialogue in this politically parched landscape. Humility is a rare trait for any politician and Mary understands that issues and substance should drive our politics rather than image and personality.
