Mark Lisagor has been sending out great updates that show his thoughts behind different campaign moves he is making. I like transparency as it makes me think he might be more transparent then the current board has been in the past.

CHECK YOUR MAILBOX
Our first direct mail piece to all likely voters landed in Ventura County mailboxes Saturday. This piece introduces Mark and identifies one reason a change is needed - too much spending on lobbyists.

TIME TO WRITE LETTERS TO NEWSPAPERS
The Star's article mentioned above is a perfect reason to share your thoughts about the Board of Education and why you believe Mark Lisagor should be elected to District 3. Please see attached document with information on where to send letters and suggested message points. There are five newspapers in the area besides the Star.
FUNDRAISING REPORT
We have raised a significant amount of money but there is still a ways to go in this campaign if we are to finish strong. You'll all be receiving one last request for support in the mail soon. Please help by giving a little bit more if you can, enlisting the support of a friend who has not yet contributed, if you can't.
WALKING PRECINCTS
A big "Thank You" to those of you who have been walking precincts and spreading the word about this campaign. Our initial walking was a knock and visit approach. This weekend, we're going to focus on walking special door hangers for Ojai and Santa Paula. This will just be "hang and go" so if you live in Ojai or Santa Paula and can help, please let me know. If you have a teenager who would like to get a taste of politics, this might be the perfect opportunity. We will supply the list of addresses and the material to hang.
SLATE MAILERS
As part of our efforts to reach voters, we have purchased spots on about six slate mailers which go to various voter demographics. Since slate mailer companies do not disclose which candidates or initiatives will appear on their slates, I will likely appear with other candidates or initiatives that are uncomfortable for some of you and your friends. This is an unfortunate part of the business and it is conceivable that some slate mailer companies will put me on their slates without us even purchasing the spot. This is a non-partisan office and so we will appear on both Democratic and Republican slates as well as ones aimed at special segments.

If you haven't visited the web site, we now have options to volunteer, donate and read positions on a couple of key issues. Whenever you bump into someone who is interested in helping, the quickest way is for them to visit the web site and sign up. Plus, people can make donations through the web site using a credit card.
SIGNS ARE OUT
All of our large diamond signs are now up in strategic places around the district and the yard signs are starting to pop up everywhere! We still have more yard signs if you have a location.

I am really excited about Mark Lisagor. He has the endorsements of hundreds of community leaders from all parties and will bring a level of professionalism that our district so badly needs. If you live in district 3 (Camarillo, Santa Paula, Fillmore, Ojai and parts of Oxnard) please plan on voting out the incumbent and voting in Dr. Mark Lisagor for Ventura County Board of Education.
And Brian, I agree with you on the transparency comments. Many members of the current Ventura County Board of Education have not been transparent - even when asked directly. Mark Lisagor is very open and honest and deserves the office.
His opponent has no signs, no website, no mailers? Does he not take the office seriously?
