What message are we to get about Republicans from this mailer?
Looks like the State Democratic Party is calling them nerds.
But ethical nerds that don't want tobacco money in politics.

It's hard hitting, but it's true, unlike the pieces I see coming from the other side.
The tobacco donations make my skin crawl, too.
So do the trial lawyers contributions that are filling up Hannah-Beth's coffers.
Cancer peddlers vs. working folks who defend consumers? Not even close.
The tobacco industry is just interested in one thing: selling products that they know kill people. And they likely bought Tony Strickland's votes with their money. He voted against two bills which would make it harder for minors to buy cigarettes.
One of the largest recipients of tobacco industry funds during the 2001-2002 legislative session was Tony Strickland with $63,000. He even ranked nationwide for tobacco contributions.
I'm so sick of the "trial lawyers" defense by uninformed Republicans like the one above, without real information to discuss the issues.
But this shows the real allegiance of Stricklands and the uninformed. It is trial lawyers who have rightfully taken the the tobacco industry to court. It is the Stricklands who are courting the tobacco industry. And it is the uninformed Republicans who follow like sheep at their own peril.
Smoke, smoke, smoke that cigarette.
Smoke, smoke, smoke yourself to death.
OK, if you love the amubulance-chasers so much, how about the unions and the richies in Santa Barbara who are pumping money into Jackson's campaign? Don't you think these folks are going to be expecting a little quid pro quo if Jackson gets elected?
You guys are such hypocrites. You love to badger and express outrage at Strickland for accepting contributions from business groups and organizations, yet when someone points to your own dirty laundry you start acting all shocked and outraged. Gimme a break here.
I anticipate the residents of Santa Barbara and all over the district who donated to her will be expecting her to live up to her reputation as a stellar legislator, that's all.
Don't forget that 62 percent of her individual contributions came from in the district, while 66 of Strickland's individual contributions came from outside the district.
It's even worse with Audra. She has almost no donations from local folks.
Bubba- I mean "trial lawyers" - how you can equate unions (representing working people) with the tobacco industry (killing off working people) is beyond understanding.
But most of what you say is beyond understanding. But like McSame - you are desperate to throw any crap at the wall to see what sticks.
Unions are special interests just the same as tobacco companies, the oil industry, and insurance companies are.
Deal with it!
