Strickland up by 1571 after the L.A. update. Santa Barbara is supposed to update between 5:30 and 6:30.
Can we assume these are updates as the ballots are in the process of being counted or final reports?
Santa Barbara just updated. HBJ is now up by 255 votes. Bad news for her though. Most of Santa Barbara is now in and most of Ventura County still needs to been counted. This race is over. Tony still has some L.A. left also.
Updates as late absentee ballots are counted. No provisionals counted anywhere yet.
9k absentee ballots left to be counted in Santa Barbara. 66k absentee ballots left in Ventura County. Only 15k provisionals to be counted between the two counties. HBJ has no path to victory.
How come no Ventura County votes counted today? Seems like poor timing for a three-day weekend?

They counted just not posting till Monday. I bet the Strickland camp is popping corks.

19,252 provisionals between the two counties, according to the latest updates. None counted yet. Many of these are new registers.

10,000 Provisionals in Ventura County
~ 85% of Santa Barbara County is in SD 19
~ 65% of Ventura County is in SD 19
That means under 12,000 provisionals in SD 19 between the two counties.

Bad news is Oxnard is not part of the SD19 that tips the scales in TS's favor. Let's hope Prop 11 passes.
The provisionals hold the key and I suspect you won't hear any proclamations of victory until those are counted. Both sides know this. The ball isn't on the absentee ballots.

There are less than 20,000 provisionals to be counted. Half which are in Tony Strickland's Ventura County.
HBJ's county of Santa Barbara has only 5000 Absentees to be counted.
Strickland's county of Ventura has over 65,000 absentees to be counted.
This race is over. There is no way HBJ can win now. She need a much bigger jump in Santa Barbara...she did not get it.
