Ventura County Republican leader and State Senator Tony Strickland will be meeting with citizens in Goleta at a card table event. While State Senator Tony Strickland and I disagree on many issues I appreciate that he is willing to take questions from people directly. What would you tell him if you had a few minutes to sit down and discuss state issues?

I would ask him which Democratic leaders he has been meeting in his efforts to work with members of both parties to improve the economy and help the budget problems we are facing.

When was the last time you remember Rep. Elton Gallegly announcing he was going to be at an event and take questions directly from the public?

I was there for a good part of the day and it was quite a pleasant event. Lots of good feedback from plenty of folks, many of whom are very concerned about the state of our State, the overall economy, the future of our education system, and our ability to provide good law enforcement services for our citizens.

There were a few wack jobs nearby who were attempting to stir things up (albeit unsuccessfully). Most Santa Barbarans are quite familiar with the leftist misfits that are always trying to draw attention to themselves in just about any setting. Believe me, there were lots of eyes rolling.

But, most people appreciated the opportunity to meet with Tony and share their thoughts and concerns. I think he'll be doing this more and more in the future.

I stopped by and chatted with Senator Strickland for a few minutes and found him quite engaging. I appreciated the fact that he made the effort to come out and meet his constituents face to face.

Most of these people get elected and you never see hide nor hair of them after election day.

I have a question Tony? Why are you such an unethical scumbag?

I have a question, Not Tony. Why are you such a bitter, sore loser? You and your group of whining ninnies need to accept reality and move on.
