( Not interested in a club meeting? Than check out this new video with the former governor of Illinois. It is really funny. )

The Conejo Valley Democrats are hosting local writer and CLU professor Beverly Clearly who will be discussing "What would happen if Washington and Lincoln ran for president today?"

The local Democratic Clubs have really been visible and active after this election. I know many Republican Women Federated Clubs have been holding their regular meetings but I don't know how effective they have been at reaching out to new members.

Send in your club meetings if you want me to post them.

This should be another good meeting for the Conejo Dems. We had over 100 attend a fundraiser / dinner honoring volunteers. The Greater Contibution of TO charity which offers micro loans to 3rd world business owners rec'd $1,230!

It sounds like it would make a great webinar.

Professor,

In your opinion; did the CEO of Diebold commit digital treason?

Their CEO is a longtime Republican, he is a member of President Bush's ''Rangers and Pioneers,''.

One more question Professor?

Why hasn't any Republicans such as Karl Rove been hanged for these crimes?

Jay,

Is there no local organization that could have used the donation? It's all well and good to provide micro-loans to 3rd world business owners, but our own economy and state is currently in meltdown mode. As a consequence, many local and US charities are finding their coffers bare when the need is increasing. I know of a group locally that is looking to serve local veterans and the uninsured/underinsured to provide physical and neuro therapy, who can't get adequate treatment for head trauma/brain injuries. Our own Veterans can't get adequate treatment from the VA for injuries sustained in service of their country. It's shameful.

I applaud all charitable efforts, including the one you mentioned. However, there are local organizations like Casa Pacifica, Senior organizations, etc. that need help too. I know that some effort has been done on behalf of a local food bank, which is great.

JMHO, the old adage that charity begins at home is more relevant than ever these days.
