Simi Valley blogger Mike Chandler created the first Barack Obama themed image for me and now I am addicted. Let's make this the official photo of Mayor Paul Miller. Do me a favor and post it on your blog or post links on other blogs linking back to this entry.

Now, back to serious news. Mayor Paul Miller will be giving his annual State of the City address to the Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are $55 for the public. If you don't want to pay or don't have the time I will try to find the text of the speech and post it.

Mike, are you going to go? Any chance you can video it for everyone that wants to see it?

The Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce will once again host the Mayor's State of the City Address. The Annual State of the City Address will be presented to the Chamber membership on Friday, February 20 at 11:30 a.m. at the Grand Vista Hotel. The Mayor's address will provide an overview of City Departments and City Projects. "We appreciate and look forward to the opportunity to present the State of the City and to share in detail how our City is doing. We are all facing challenging times and this event will allow the City Council to provide information and to gain input from our businesses and residents to ensure that we are doing our best job to meet the challenges on behalf of the community," said Mayor Paul Miller.

Sponsorship opportunities are available at the following levels: Table Sponsors - $600 for a table of eight or $350 for a table of four. Sponsors will receive preferred seating, table placard, acknowledgment in the Chamber's Mid Month Mailer and the event program. Tickets are $40 for members and $55 for non-members.

For more information about the 2009 State of the City Address or for reservations call Maggie Urpin at the Chamber office at 805-526-3900 or email murpin@simichamber.org. The deadline to RSVP is Friday, February 13.

The Chamber isn't exactly on board with me and my video camera, so that's just not going to happen. I plan to be there though.

Did they say if it was going to be broadcasted anywhere?

How about a digital recorder. Not sure if they would even know.

The chamber is so tech savvy, they might not know you're recording unless you had reel to reel tape.
