( The video is a song called "There is Nobody As Irish As Barack O'Bama. Happy St. Patrick's Day.)

President Barack Obama will be in Southern California this week to hold a town hall forum on health care reform. I am amazed at how many issues he is trying to work on so soon. I don't think I ever shared this story on my blog before but years ago, before he declared he ran for president I worked at a fundraiser for a DSCC event that included Senator Hillary Clinton, Democratic Party Leader Howard Dean, soon to be Senator Barack Obama, and The red Hot Chili Peppers. I didn't meet Barack Obama and I wasn't back stage but I was working crowd control. It is pretty cool to say I worked security at a Barack Obama event. Regardless of how you voted you should register for the lottery for this event. To be a part of history like this would be an honor and something to tell future generations.

Register for tickets by clicking here.

You have until noon Tuesday.

I want to go! I registered but it is for two tickets. How can I get three so that I can attend and bring both kids?

Debbie

I registered, hopefully I will be chosen. How did you find out about this Brian.

I would love to go and see Obama speak! It is so good to have a President who can actually speak and think at the same time! GO OBAMA!

Donna,

From a friend and school nurse. She emailed it to me. I interviewed her last week for Pink Friday. Here is that interview:

Unless the kids have questions on healthcare policy what's the point? The event is to discuss policy. It isn't a rally.

With Obama, it's always a rally...

True, people do support the president and like to see their leader in action.

Any of you get two tickets to see President Barack Obama?

Rally,

I disagree. Rallies are for when you're seeking to get elected. He's already in office...

That's why it is a town hall forum with questions from the audience and not a speech. Every news story and pundit has said the same.

Presidents do have town hall forums, that isn't new.

Sure, but for "The One", it's just another opportunity to get all evangelical on us. Better have plenty of smelling salt available for fainters...

Speaking of hot air, didn't Obama receive a $100,000 campaign contribution from AIG? Hmmm....

If campaign contributions influence votes which of Tony Strickland's votes were bought by tobacco?

Hmmmm....

None. But Jackson received a little under the table action via Ron Calderon that was donated from Altria. Oops. Can anyone say, laundering?

Eddie,

Why does it matter? You think money doesn't influence votes.

Dash,

So, you're admitting Obama may have been complicit in approval of the AIG executive bonuses because of the $100K his campaign received from this company? At least you're being honest.

Money buys access. With access comes influence. To partisans detached from reality like you it seems you only think it happens to the other party.

But to clarify, he didn't get money from AIG he got money from their employees. Tony Strickland took it from tobacco PACS set up to influence legislation.

That it does, that is does. You won't get any argument from me on that.

I brought up the AIG contributions to Obama because it's a topical issue right now. But, for all you partisan Dems out there, the road always seems to lead back to Tony Strickland. I actually find it quite amusing (so does Brian).

It doesn't really matter whether Obama got the money from AIG employees or the company itself, does it? I'm sure the $$ didn't come from the company janitors. More than likely, it was from some of the same high-salaried executives that are getting the bonuses.

So you admit Tony Strickland might be influenced by his contributers?
