The Daily Show W/ Jon Stewart Takes on Jim Kramer and Rick Santelli

I like listening to Jim Kramer but this video of Jon Stewart taking him and Rick Santelli is really funny.

By my count Jon Stewart comes out with another victory.

If Rush Limbaugh is the leader of the Republican Party I nominate Jon Stewart to be the leader for the Democrats.

In poll related news Peter Foy and Tom Campbell are winning among my readers. I am keeping the voting open. Even though she is leading in recent polls Meg Whitman hasn't earned a single vote from my readers. A 3rd term for Arnold Schwarzenegger is beating her. Maybe Peter Foy will actually run, although I think he will run for insurance commissioner.

Brian, totally off topic. What do you think about nationalization of banks?

What I've learned in life is that when the experts say "don't worry", start worrying. If they say "worry", keep worrying (this is where we are now). When they say this is the end of the world as we know it is the time to start buying.

Jon Stuart is a very funny guy, with a talented staff that pieced together statements from 2 years worth of CNBC broadcasts, in a very funny and entertaining way.

I know a few people who got in over their heads with the silly loans that they would never be able to pay off even if we didn't have the current retraction in housing values.

I wouldn't call them losers like Santelli did, but in most cases they didn't bother to read the loan documents that they were signing.

The most expensive item most of us will ever buy is a house. If you can't understand the documents then pay a lawyer to read and explain it to you.

And if you're a waitress makings $30-40k a year with tips, you're never going to be able to pay off a $600k house with a $660k mortgage.

I have no problem with the government making it easier for people that can make the payments on a new 30-40 year mortgage to re-finance.

I do have a problem with forcing the lenders to reduce the loan amount.

I'm not too enamored with DC bailing out the banking and auto industries, but I can understand how many more people would be affected with their collapse.

I'm very worried about the FDIC saying it's going to run out of funds before the end of the year.

Bank nationalization is not a good idea in my opinion.

I have personal experience with trading online and had done quite well during the tech boom, but cashed out and invested in most funds in bonds five years ago.
I have no insight, but understand that folks like MSNBC showmen who make their living selling 'tips' and advice are real snake oil salesmen. I say salesmen because almost all of them are fellows, with the occasional gal like Maria.
It takes a comedy show to expose these frauds like Jon Steward!

John Stewart is extremely funny as is Bill Maher and the Colbert Report. These guys have made me laugh for years. But on the serious side, CNBC and TV folk are not the cause of our problems. Yeah, Wall Street is probably rigged so you should get out if you can but what do we do about the politicians that never seem to change -- no matter who we vote for. Washington D.C. is as broken as Wall Street and the Politician's don't seem much different than the CEO's they supposedly detest.
