The Santa Barbara County Democratic Party announced the date of its annual fundraiser, recently renamed the 'Roosevelt-Hamer Dinner', which will be held on Saturday May 9th, 2009, at the Earl Warren Showgrounds. Party officers expect a larger than usual turnout for the event, due to increased participation and interest generated by the national presidential election of 2008. The annual dinner is the principle source of funding for grassroots activities by the Party, and over 400 activists and donors are expected to attend.
The dinner was renamed this year after Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the nations' 32nd President who presided over the new deal, and Fannie Lou Hamer, civil rights activist and pioneer integrating the Democratic Party. President Pro-Tempore of the California Senate Darryl Steinberg will give the keynote address, and the event will be hosted by former Assemblymember Hannah-Beth Jackson. The dinner will serve as an awards ceremony for individuals and organizations who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to Democratic goals and values. Honorees include the California Teachers' Association (CTA), activist Gina Fischer, St. Ynez Democratic Club President Cheryl Hermann, and Santa Barbara City Councilmember Das Williams. Tickets are $75 before April 24th, $85 after. Available at www.sbdems.org.

Santa Barbara is a good place for left wing Democrat liberals like Hannah Beth Jackson and Das Williams. They should stay there and out of Ventura County.

That comment only makes sense to you.
I deleted a comment from Mad because of a joke or reference to violence.
Feel free to comment and contribute but keep it classy.
Das Williams is a member of the Santa Barbara City Council and an official with CAUSE, the group that's trying to prevent a Wal-Mart from opening in Ventura.
Again, trying to impose Santa Barbara values on Ventura and boost his campaign for State Assembly. No thanks!
