Ventura County Star Reporter and political analyst Timm Herdt had asked before if a contested primary between two Santa Barbara based candidates would motivate a Ventura County candidate to jump in. An often mentioned possibility was Council Member for the City of Ventura Bill Fulton.
That isn't going to happen this time as Bill Fulton has announced he isn't running, although he did mention he would consider running for higher office in the future.

Do you think Bill Fulton's decision not to run for the 35th Assembly District seat had anything to do with the fact that two Democrats (Susan Jordan and Das Williams) had already thrown their hats in the ring?
