President Obama's Message for America's Students + Comment Of The Week

Here is the full video that had people comparing the President of the United States to Hitler:

Nathan Sweet of Moorpark posted the comment of the week on Facebook:

"If a 20 minute speech to school children will brainwash them into blindly obeying the President of the United States, I want him to talk to my kids. I want him to say " stop hitting your brother...eat your vegetables..."
Are you that paranoid? Please!"

Did you watch the speech? I plan to watch it tonight.

UPDATE:

NASCAR made an ad to promote the speech to students. They wouldn't have helped out if they thought it was a partisan speech.

I was raised to duck and cover in fear of the Red Menace, Russian air attacks, nuclear bombs...

Now American kids are being raised to fear a message on education from the President of the United States.

The left and right both have their lunatics, but the right is making a serious bid for the gold medal.

Thank you Nathan for this spot on observation.

Most of us agree that Barack Obama has an inspiring life story and he is a great speaker. I am glad he used those attributes today to help inspire young people.

Would Elton Gallegly feel more comfortable speaking in front of a bunch of third graders and working his way up to an adult debate?

I think some parents were just worried the President might tell the kids about the defict they have to pay

Schools and services for children should be the last things cut because the children are the ones that have to pay off the deficit.

The Right Wing's reaction to the idea of Obama speaking to our students is symptomatic of a terrible and deadly disease among that portion of the body politic. It really is as bad as the polarization that led to the Civil War and the Nation should start taking a serious look at what could happen.

I like the quote from Nathan Sweet!

Without a doubt, I have waited too long before speaking out on this issue. I have always considered myself to be a right wing conservative, but I must say that the uproar over the presidents speech to school children is just ridiculous. Those people who are screaming “socialist indoctrination” and other such nonsense are true nut cases.

JimmyM,

Thanks for reading and commenting on my bog. I haven't heard anyone seriously be offended at the contents of the speech.

Any president that can use their personal appeal to inspire students to try harder should use their gift and authority to do so.
