The typo in the announcement from the Ventura County Republican Party above isn't too hard to spot. In their defense the F and V key are close on a keyboard.

I am not claiming to be better at catching my own mistakes. Instead, I am using it as an opportunity to ask you for help. The Star does not offer me the services of an editor and sometimes I post entries in a rush. If you ever see a grammar mistake, a spelling error, or a typo please let me know.

You can email me directly or leave a comment with the correction. You don't need to register to leave a comment.

I appreciate your help. Especially my loyal reader Nostrademus that likes to use Latin phrases.I am sure you have some input!

Save should be safe. You are wrong. There, I did what you asked.

So, what's your point, Brian? I assume you've been spell-checking all the Democrat Party's announcements too.

Yeah what is your point? That republicans are dumb? We knew that when they tried to get Palin elected as VP!

Didn't the GOP also get outed after they sent a large portion of their internet operations to India during the 2008 election? Anyone hear anything about that?

...and you left the "s" off where it should say "loyal readers" in your request for help...

It's a slip of Freudian proportions. The Simi Valley Republicans should be talking about saving their environment. Why isn't Boeing spending their stimulus dollars they received on cleaning up the hills of Simi Valley? Where are the Simi Valley Republicans looking out for the tax-payers in this issue? Wear do their loyalties really lie... with corporations or the American people?

Those are just a few of the questions that should be asked of the Simi Valley Republicans.

BTW, Nobody, you misspelled "where" as "wear". Jeez, where do these Dems go to school? No wonder the Republicans are expected to come roaring back in 2010.

A couple more racial slurs from the likes of Harry Reid and they'll be assured of reclaiming the White House in 2012...

What's your point,

You used the Lord's name in vein by utilizing the slang word "Jeez". You committed a sin in your comment.

I didn't misspell a word I made a Freudian slip referencing how local Republicans "wear" environment on their sleaves just as they do religion.

Oh sure, Nobody, a Freudian slip, huh? (LOL).

Uh oh, caught another spelling error - "sleeves", not "sleaves" (another product of the public school system, no doubt).

It is interesting that they meet at the junkyard given all the lies and garbage they spew! McCain's people are quoted as saying "In terms of foreign policy Palin knows nothing, she will take a lot of work. Better she say nothing." And the republicans actually worship that idiot Palin! These days Republicans basically sit around waiting for Rush or some other idiot to tell them what to say and think and then like loyal parrots they repeat it, they don't think for themselves, they just repeat it. Also Tony Strickland went to public school so stop saying that Strickland is an idiot.

Yeah, and the Dem sheep walk around with dreamy looks in their eyes every time they see a picture of Obama appear on their computer or TV screen. What a bunch of Kool-Aid drinking morons. You'd think they lived in North Korea.

So, what do you think of Harry Reid's little fopaux about your Dear Leader? Is he, in fact, a light-skinned African American, with no Negro dialect unless he wanted to have one? ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!

If it's true that the Simi Valley Republicans indeed meant "talk politics in a safe environment" that's rather strange. It sounds paranoid. What makes their "political environment" safer than other environments?

What's Your Point?,

We all appreciate the Republicans concern that President Obama's feelings might have been hurt by Harry Reid's statements. It's comforting to know you guys are out there on the front lines fighting racism in America.

Once again no misspellings anywhere I have seen. "Sleave" is a word and it's spelled correctly. You must be horrible at Scrabble “what’s your point?”.

4th District – Simi Valley, Moorpark

John Absmeier – Caucus Chair, Peggy Sadler, Reg Richardson, Dean Kunicki , Ray Cruz

The e-mail must be John Absmeier - as Caucus Chair he must be on the Executive Committee that is approving all of the money going to candidates out of Ventura County. Way to represent the needs of Simi Valley - NOT!!

What's Your Point, you mean President Obama? The guy who kicked the living crap out of McCain and Palin and the entire GOP? Did you agree when Mike Steele the head of the GOP said "I am glad that Arlen Specter has quit our party, it brings us closer to the kind of "purity" in thought and action we must all have. We must have no different opinions, we must all believe the same thing and not think for ourselves, we must be loyal to the party and the Fatherland. If we ever get back in power we must have a final solution to deal with those who do not think and act as we do. We must be willing to give up our personal rights and freedoms for the sake of our party and Fatherland!"

It's funny that someone who will only post anonymously criticizes the Republicans for wanting to meet in a safe environment and calls them paranoid.

I can sympathize, though. If you are critical of government largesse, you get called a racist, sexist, homophobe, teabagger, etc. It's all invective, designed to stop you from advocating a different point of view (and we are called intolerant, ahem). It's effective; that sort of verbal violence causes many people to be silent.

Enough with the right wing crocodile tears, Eric. The only time conservatives moan about government largesse and growing bureaucracy is when they're not in power to hand it out. Otherwise they're all for creating bigger government, bigger deficits and bigger problems in all areas of American life.

Eric,
So what's in a name anyway?
It's the thought that matters Eric. I rather have a fake name and real thought than vice versa.

Would you have answered my questions if I used my real name?

I don't mean to help the enemy but it's just sad.
If the Simi Valley Republicans really wanted to attract a few normal people to their meetings they should advertise a "no yelling" meeting. Advertise there won't be any wacky right wing teabagger loud ranting lunatics. That would put people more at ease than saying "safe environment". Saying it's going to be a "safe environment" makes it sound like their meetings had a problem being safe in the past. I don't know maybe it's just another example of how the Republicans use fear to control their followers. This meeting is safe and the others aren't.

I have to agree with Nobody on this one - the "safe environment" comment should go. It is kind of weird.

Oh sure, Katie will agree with anything that denigrates County Republicans. That's her M.O. It's slash and burn time for old Katie when it comes to discussing Republican politics in Ventura County.

Maybe, rather than speaking ill of her fellow Republican Party members, she should try and do something about it, something positive, something innovative. Oh, sorry, I must have taken leave of my senses. For a minute there, I forgot I was talking about Katie.

I expect county Republicans to have integrity! I will speak out every time. Too bad you can't deal with it.

What's Your Point, Audra Strickland ran a push poll against fellow republican Parks! Sorry sucker, your hypocrisy is showing just like the hypocrisy of the GOP!

Yeah right, fellow "Republican" Parks you say? And you're saying this with a straight face, I assume?

Linda Parks is as much of a Republican as Harry "The Racist" Reid and Nancy "Botox Babe" Pelosi. Talk about hypocrisy and phonies, you need to take a look at your own party, Naylin!

Parks is legally registered as a Republican. You cannot say she is legally anything else but a Republican. Registration is what counts where elections are concerned.

Then she should be able to talk to the various Women's Federated Groups and meet members of the Ventura County Republican Central Committee. The Conejo Valley Federated group is sponsoring a state candidate forum - surely they will do one for Linda Parks and any Republican opponent she might have. There are also a couple of Republicans in the Sheriff's race, potential the Tax Collector race and I know some of these candidates are anxious to debate.

So get What's Your Point you are saying Parks is not a real republican, kind of like Adolf said only blond and blue eyed Aryans were real Germans? You are saying the only real republicans are right wing fascists and those who have agreed to sign the no tax pledge that was written by the tobacco companies who paid off Norquist to push it, which is why Joe Camel funds the VCRCC? You are saying real republicans are people like Sanford, Duvall, Ensign, Foley, Craig, Bush? I hope the 90% of republicans who are not insane right wing christian coalition puppets wake up to the fact that the GOP has basically become Mules for Joe Camel and kick the 10% of right wing nuts out of their party.

C'mon, Naylin, even you should be able to understand the point that Parks is a liberal Democrat masquerading as a conservative Republican. Real Republicans come in all shapes, sizes, and ideologies.

The fact is that Linda Parks has no business representing herself as a Republican when her past voting record and position on the issues clearly fall into the "liberal Democrat" category. There is no disputing this fact. She's a phony and uses the "R" word just to get elected and nothing else.

What issues is Linda Parks a liberal on? Give me a list to prove your point. Otherwise it sounds like you just want a more partisan supervisor.

There are numerous examples of Parks' opposition to reasonable development proposals in areas within the County that are not even designated as greenbelts. For example, her insistence that 40 acres next to the Tierra Rejada Greenbelt near Simi Valley be re-zoned to prevent any type of development ever. This is counterproductive to efforts to reinvigorate the County's economy and is typical of her "blinders-on" mentality when it comes to economic development opportunities that conflict with her rigid views on open space preservation.

Another example of her anti-business, liberal mentality is her consistent opposition to reasonable and justified rent increases for mobile home park owners within the County. She is trying to turn Ventura County into Santa Monica by imposing rent control overkill and undue restrictions on property owners, which only works to discourage investment and re-investment by private owners in their property, which will create more affordable housing opportunities in the County rather than a slumlord mentality.

How could I forget, Facts. Linda Parks also endorsed far left Democrat, Hannah-Beth Jackson, in the 19th Senate District race vs. Republican, Tony Strickland, and still wants to call herself a moderate Republican? How does that work again?
