Steven Hintz is using Facebook to reach out to voters. I will be putting his Fanbox on every entry I post on the campaign to be the next county tax collector. If you are supporting another campaign send me the html ( or send me a message and I will help you create it) and I will post your Fanbox too.
I am excited that web 2.0 technologies are making it easier and easier to join a campaign. If you like a story I post on a candidate you can click become a fan on the end of the post and you will be connected to the campaign.
Steven Hintz has already loaned his own campaign $150,000 to get things started. It must be nice to be able to risk that type of money. Eric Ingemunson has a blog post that includes some biographical details that is a quick read. Eric, it looks like I know who you are going to be supporting. Send me a message if you want to include his Fanbox on your page too.
I heard of Steven Hintz's interest in politics from Natalie Panossian when she was organizing a Federalist Society event that he moderated. I am looking forward to all of the campaigns for local office. I will be covering the campaign for Ventura County Treasurer-Tax Collector more than any other local source of news.

I have to echo your sentiment about social networking--I can't imagine starting a campaign or political movement without utilizing Facebook.
As for Hintz, I haven't seen anything I dislike yet (quite the opposite), but it's premature to say I'm supporting him. I want to see his train set first ;)
Hi Mr. Dennert,
I have also created a Facebook Fanpage for my campaign for Superior Couty Judge.

I would appreciate your posting it.

Ryan Wright
Ryan,
Send me the HTML for a fanbox and I will post it. Send me a message if you need help generating the code.
Mr. Steven Hintz,
On November 15, 1990, you abused your judicial authority by planning and executing a detention, search and warrant check of citizens lawfully present in the courtroom. The citizens were improperly detained, without reasonable suspicion or exigent circumstances, and subjected to unwarranted personal searches. The detained citizens were also improperly required to provide identification. These actions exceeded your lawful authority and violated the citizens' constitutional rights.
At the conclusion of the trial in People v. Rodriguez in you criticized the jurors for their verdict. Your comments regarding the verdict were improper and contrary to the Standards of Judicial Administration. You also IMPROPERLY DETAINED THE JURORS after their verdict, requiring them to sit through a separate hearing regarding the defendant. This appeared punitive of the jury and calculated to humiliate the defendant.
The People vs. Lopez also brings up questions of your character and decision making process. You may get points with Elton Gallegly with this behavior but you create none for The People.
I place your bail at $1.6 billion dollars...
Next!
I would like to hear Mr. Hintz's response to the above comment.
Mr. Steven Hintz,
Twenty years ago you made a questionable call in your court room. The fact that someone has to go back 20 years to find "dirt" (for lack of a better word) speaks volumes.
You'll have our votes!
Those meg be Meg Whitman years...
Mr. Hintz,
It's almost impossible for a judge to get fired or even punished for their behavior. You managed to be pointed out as a judge who acted unethically. That speaks volumes.
You owe the citizens an answer.
