The Ventura County Democrats Labor Day Picnic event is coming up again and this is a reminder that any Democratic candidate can get a free table to put out materials and to talk to activists at the event.
Click on continue reading for details.
The event is open to the public and candidate for nonpartisan positions are welcome to attend. Last year Geoff Dean went and spoke to the crowd. Click here to see my coverage of last year's event. This year I wonder if Republican Bob Huber, who has endorsed by many labor unions and Democratic leaders will attend, or if Republican Steve Sojka will use the opportunity to show he plans to be a bipartisan leader. They are the only two candidates running for mayor of Simi Valley. It would be great to see the candidates for Treasurer Tax Collector, Republican Steven Hintz and Republican Don Facciano, out there too.

Brian:
With an unprecedented 10-point deficit in the generic Congressional ballot, and a staggering 25-point deficit in enthusiasm among likely voters, the Democrats have their political work cut-out for them during the next sixty days in order to keep the November 2010 mid-terms from becoming an electoral blood-bath of biblical proportions.
NostraDemus
ND, the train's already left the station on the November mid-term elections. Expect to see some big changes in the Congressional make-up after November 2. Even the stalwart liberal, Barbara Boxer, is going to have a run for her money in this election.
And much of this will be due to Obama's policies and the electorate's disillusionment with his ability to lead the nation effectively. A great campaigner and orator do not necessarily equate to a good President.
Good to see that the right-wing echo chamber is still working at the Star... star... star... star...
