Official Ventura County Democratic Party Endorsements

Many candidates pay to be included on targeted slate mailers. Sometimes they are deceptive, like when a Republican Simi Valley City Council Member pays to be included on a mailer with the headline: Voter Information Guide for Democrats. That's okay as she helped to fund a mailer for all of the Democrats listed that did not pay!

If there is an asterisk next to a candidate's name that means they paid to be included on the slate mailer. The best I have seen is when conservative Democratic Party Republican Party leader Audra Strickland paid to be on a mailer with John F. Kennedy on it. Audra Strickland is a proud conservative Republican. Her inclusion on that mailer doesn't reflect her voting record.

The endorsement of a party allows access to resources for a candidate including databases of voters, inclusion on official slate mailers, invitations to events, being put on the agenda to speak to party club meetings, and more.

Because of the great campaigns being put on by many proud Democrats like Nathan Sweet, Bob Rust, Marie Panec, and more I expect that Democrats will come out as winners in Ventura County this week. They won't win every contest but they will have a deeper bench of leaders after the ballots are counted.

Thank you so much for posting this, Brian!

We've worked really hard this year to get out the vote for our candidates. Thousands of these mailers are out there via mail and precinct walks. Thousands of phone calls have been made from our five field offices. We've done an innovative letters-to-the-editor program and have done some new things with email blasts as well.

I'm very proud of what we've done this year and our candidates appreciate our efforts.

Thank you for not endorsing Steven Hintz; the worst judge in the history of Ventura County, for Ventura County Treasurer. The Democrats that supported Steven Hintz are to be scrutinized more than all Republicans combined for putting what they believe are their best interests before doing what's right for Ventura County.

The people of Ventura County are too intelligent and will not vote for Jeff Gorell; a lawyer working for a Texas Offshore drilling company. I am looking forward to having someone in Assembly who fights for the citizens of Ventura not a Texas offshore oil drilling company.

Audra Strickland has more in common with the conservative Democrat JFK than a lot of the Progressive Democrats on the mailer.

And it's ironic to read that someone thinks that Gorell isn't someone "who fights for the citizens of Ventura" when he's going to be fighting for the entire country soon.

We come to the Dennert Blog so we won't have to hear any of these so-called "Munsonisms". What's next another Goldberg moment? Is there no escape?

In terms of the future of Audra Strickland's political career... yes Audra Strickland and JFK have something in common..

The lawyer for the offshore oil drilling company named Jeff Gorell will lose just as hardily as Audra Strickland lost by a landslide to Linda Parks.

I got a good belly laugh from this last post, Nobody. Ferial Masry is going to beat Jeff Gorell? Bwahahahahahhahahaha!!!!!

Now I know why you're in favor of Prop. 19, Nobody. You like your marijuana for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, don't you? Oh my God, somebody stop me please. I'm on fire!!!!!!!!

Electing a lawyer that works for a offshore drilling company that will be overseas half his term... Is that something a intelligent person would vote for? No. The majority of people who vote are ignorant. That's how we got Elton, the Strickland's, Hintz, Gorell, ect., ect... Pure unaldulterated ignorance.

Yeah right, buster! I bet you weren't calling the voters ignorant two years ago when they elected that "not ready for prime time" President. That's OK though. We'll be undoing that mistake in 2012. Can't wait.
