The Simi Valley / Moorpark Democratic Club had a candidates forum last night and Tim Allison spoke to the crowd. After his speech he took questions from the audience including a question on what he would do to stop the Tea Party agenda. This was his response:
I was surprised that Tim Allison didn't take this chance to fire up a Democratic crowd. When a politician avoids taking the easy path that impresses me.
I was also sent this video of Tim Allison speaking at an event recently:
Democratic Congressional candidate Tim Allison mentioned my observation that he has more signs up in Simi Valley than any Democrat has had in more than a decade. I'm flattered to have been quoted in his stump speech. Tim Allison is doing his best to challenge UnRepresentative Elton Gallegly. Taking on an incumbent with a large financial advantage is admirable and I appreciate that Tim Allison is doing it.
If you are interested in a great political documentary about the powers of incumbency I suggest you watch the film Street Fight about Cory Booker and Newark, New Jersey. It is my favorite political documentary.
I am not comparing Gallegly to Sharpe James but I do understand that incumbency is very powerful.
I uploaded pictures from the candidates forum to my Facebook page for my blog:

This is from the start of his speech:

(and spread the word)

Here is truly a man who will reach out and engage with his constituents, even if he doesn't always agree with what they say. Here is a man who won't hide.
If you are looking for real representation, you can do no better than Tim Allison.
You guy Allison has been in hiding since election season began. My prediction: Gallegly - 66%
Allison - 34%
Elton Gallegly probably thinks he is in his "zone" since all the Bush Republicans refuse to do any real work. If the GOP continue on this path of accomplishing nothing Elton Gallegly just might become the most powerful influential politician in the Republican party. Elton Gallegly has spent decades and has now mastered the art of being completely worthless. A kiss ass of Congressional proportions.
I would rather pick someone randomly from the phonebook than have that worthless mental midget Elton Gallegly embarrass the crap out of us for another term.
So, I gather Elton's knocking on a few doors for the first time in years. He should be careful; he's had so little contact, he'll probably get lost finding his own district.
You know, Nobody, you make some very good points. When I take your comments into consideration, I need to revise my prediction:
Gallegly - 68%
Allison - 32%
Would I offend some one by Stating the fact that Elton has one Staffer that received $143,000+ a year in 2009 verses the $74,000+ a year she received in 2001 as a glorified desk jockey? That averages 11.65% pay raise per year. The rest of his Staffers got about the same treatment. This would fall under the Readers Digest section of "That's Outrageous". Just about ALL the politicians are giving themselves the same treatment. Don't extend Unemployment benefits Elton, you might not be able to give your Staffers a raise. What's even worse, ALL the Federal staffers get a New Years Day Bonus, and New Years Day is a Federal Holiday. $749.99 for that Staffer that gets $143,000 a year. Would somebody please spell "BONUS" for me?
Am I wrong in trying to get the voters educated about the legistorm site to see how Elton and the rest of the UnRepresentatives are pork barreling money into their staffers pockets? Let's not forget Elton's wife get paid by your political donations as his Campaign Manager.
See who is paying for their foreign travel and which staffers take their husband along from monies paid by foreign interests. It's in your best interest to know which foreign countries are really trying to buy political favors. You can find LegiStorm on FB or LegiStorm dot com.
Comments to 1st Allison home video. Tim Allison has this wrong.
He has not researched this subject.
Social security would have been far better off in private trust funds hands. The money received from FICA taxed payrolls has been co mingled with the federal general fund for along time. It is no longer in a separate trust fund. Now you add to the general debt the additional interest payments debt service over $3 Trillion dollors of debt needed to fund all the additional new Federal notes and Bonds over the next 10 years. And you have a disaster in the making. Our federal reserve system has been buying (monitizing) Tbills and Tnotes for about 2 years. This is not a secret by the way.
Generally, the Chinese and the Arabs are not interested in the low interest rates that we are paying. Therefore, these securities have to be sold somewhere to someone to payoff the old notes coming due. So, what do we do? The Fed Reservse banks order the treasury to print enough new currency to pay for these transactions. The hole thing is a big circle jerk. In the past, other countries that have resorted to this tactic no longer exist on earth.
Allison refuses to give Gallegly credit for anything. His war song continuely trashes Gallegly. Those of us who are very aware of Gallegly accomplishments are proud to stand up for him.
Research shows Tim Allison narrowly won his primary againist 2 challengers. Allison has a been a realtor with many part time jobs for over 10 years. He has a degree in both law and economics for a decent school. He choose not to pursue a career in either arena. He never passed the bar in California. He touts being the CEO of Ventura County Small business coalition. I can't find any information of their existance on the web. According to public records he is not in the top tiers of real estate sales in his area.
But, what really concerns me is the he has no public administration experience at all. He has never held a public office before. Should he win this event it will take him several terms to accomplish anything. As it does most Jr. Congressman. Our choice is clear it to retain Gallegly.
"... Should he win this event it will take him several terms to accomplish anything. "
It's taken Gallegly 25 years to accomplish nothing.
Tim has a very lengthy list of leadership experience.
You are joking of course. I guess your blinded by his smile and his blue polo shirt. Or, maybe its all those illegally placed signs. I'm not sure.
But, I do know this, Gallegly has a very credible lengthy list. Allison has Zero.
What meaningful or elected office did Tim hold and where? Its not on his web site. Its not in his flyers. So, where is it.
I must have missed something in my research. Why did he go to an expensive university for 6 years and not follow through with a Bar Exam or go into a associated economics field. He became a real estate sales person. A smalll business of 1. Not a bad profession in an up market. But, he hasn't done very well in the sales department dring the last 10 years. Check it out for yourself its public information.
Where is his successes. I'm still looking to find them.
My guess is here he is looking a good job with benefits.
Only problem is he is isn't qualified. Sorry. Our vote goes to the man who deserves it. Elton Gallegly.
By the way Go Mr. Tim...
As of 9/30/10 Research shows 65 people contributed their hard earned money to Tim Allison's campaign. And 526 people contributed to Gallegly. No PACs are included in this count. This is public information.
In the primary Allison got 19,832 votes and Elton got 71,041.
The total votes placed for all 3 Demo's was 41852.
Elton beat all of them put together.
"Concerned" is a partisan hack, but not a good one. You took the time to count up the big dollar contributors to each campaign from the FEC website. Does the average person do this?
However, you were clueless as to what that meant. Contributions over $200 are the only ones recorded there. (Gallegly will always have more of those becuase the well-heeled like when someone looks out for the rich at the expense of the middle class). Clearly, each candidate has hundreds or thousands of small dollar contributions since both have raised more than $100K.
If you are going to be a hack, please try to not suck at it.
ConcernedCitizen needs to spend less time on this blog and more time working on their day job for Elton Gallegly.
No wonder why constituents dont get their calls returned.
Allison 51%, Gallegly 48%
No doubt Gallegly has the fundraising advantage. It's the power of incumbency that draws those with outstretched hands to him. Tit for tat and all that.
Tim's been a civil service commissioner, a statewide caucus chair, and president of the VC Small Business Coalition. He's been a teacher, a Realtor and a very involved activist and citizen.
True, he doesn't have 24 years of do-nothings under his belt. Tim actually likes people. That alone should get him elected. How can you be a representative in hiding all these years? Gallegly tried to retire once until political cronies convinced him otherwise.
We just don't think his heart is in it any more. Except for the paycheck for himself -- and the one for his wife, too. Check the FEC. Good stuff there.
Please put Elton out to pasture for real. God knows he's been there mentally for years.
24 year and all I got was the bill for services not rendered.
In DC, there are several high functioning alcoholics serving in our Congress. Perhaps it is time for a massive job retraining program. (Names not mentioned to avoid censorship).
You can't be serious, nostra1! Bwahahahahahahahahahhahaah!!!!!!!!!! Stop it son, you're killing me here...
Go Tim, really.
Your right, I am a partisan hack. An independent voter trying to make a voting decision based on real facts not Ventura Democratic Party and Nancy Frawley fiction.
Clueless not, we have checked out every item on his web site that states his self proclaimed level of service to the community.
He never ran or served as a Mayor, City councilman, City planning commission, Parks commission, Etc. Noda. No public office experience. Never practiced law, Never practiced or taught economics for a living.
Yes, he didn't
His marque accomplishment is, He raised money and found volunteers for Barack Obama 2008 campaign,
Yes, he did.
Barack could have sent the Allison's a stimulus check to help the poor and needy in Santa Barbara county instead of spending $25 million dollors of the money for Hiway signs praising the shovel not ready projects he building.
Yes, he didn't.
Barack or the DNC could have sent Allison money to compete in this contest as they have others this year.
Yes, they didn't.
Does Barack would not even know who Tim Allison is?
Yes, he doesn't?
His relevent jobs are real stretch, he volunteers alot.
Yes, he does.
He had lots of time on his hands.
Yes, he does.
Real estate sales are slow.
Yes, it is.
Most his listed references do not seem to check out.
Yes it is.
CEO/Pres of the Ventura County Small business Colition? Does this exist? We can't seem to find it.
Where, it is?
Board of legal aide foundation. How did he do that? He never passed the Calif bar.
Yes, he didn't.
Successful realtor? Not according to public records of RE sales by Tim Allison and his income and asset statements on FEC public record.
Yes, it is.
No more money in the bank. He is going to lose.
Yes, he will.
Tim Allison is a hack. He does not have a job in Thousand Oaks and has only lived(rented) here since Feb. He is an Obama organizer (we can all see where that has gotten us)he has no idea what he is doing and has no idea who his constituents are. Couldn't run in his own district so he decided to try the 24th. He's a total progressive as he doesn't know how to do anything so he thought he would run for office. The DNC wouldn't even give him money! Go back to where you came from we don't need you here.
rubytues, I think you're giving Tim Allison way too much credit here. He's doesn't even qualify as a hack. Nobody has even heard of this guy. He makes Marta Jorgensen look like Hillary Clinton.
I hope the Dems keep coming up with lightweights like this, so Elton can keep his seat for another 24 years. LOL!!!!!!!!
CC, you've demonstrated nothing except that your Googling skills need some fine tuning.
Tim Allison is all that he says and much more. He has spent a lifetime as an activist and a leader in many arenas and is the hardest working politician out there right now.
Let's face it. Gallegly's just going through the motions these days in Washington, D.C. Running for office is a moneymaker for him. That monthly salary he pays his wife out of campaign funds really does help them snap up those foreclosed homes they so like to buy.
But let's face it. He never really did much, did he? In 24 years, just 9 bills enacted, one ruled unconstitutional. Oops.
Taxpayers deserve more for the millions they've invested in Gallegly over the years.
Time for change.
"By Not Even a Hack on October 25, 2010 5:51 PM rubytues, I think you're giving Tim Allison way too much credit here. He's doesn't even qualify as a hack. Nobody has even heard of this guy. He makes Marta Jorgensen look like Hillary Clinton.

Thanks "By Not Even A Hack" for the comparison to Hillary.
Marta Jorgensen
No problem, although the comment was simply to illustrate how invisible Tim Allison has been in this campaign.
Eric Ingenmunson reminds me of Spiro Agnew except Eric accepts snacks and fun activities as bribes instead of money.
At a rally last night for Tea Party Nut Job Rand Paul, a young woman was holding a sign against him. The Tea Partiers threw her to the ground and like a gang of Brown Shirts began physically stomping on her! The Tea Partiers are nothing but modern day Brown Shirts! Don't vote for any of these nut jobs unless you hate democracy!
Like any other movement, the Tea Party has its share of extremists and people that are prone to violence and inappropriate behavior. Even an established, respected organization like the Democratic Party has its share of nut jobs and extremists, even some that they rely on for voter registration and fund-raising (i.e., ACORN).
Rand Paul dealt swiftly and effectively with this bozo by immediately bouncing him out of his campaign. I would hope the Democrats would do the same when one of their affiliated groups or members step over the line.
What was O'Joel Angeles doing at a teabagger event in the first place? Wasn't he given some sort of probation where he has to stay at 150 feet away from someone with a political sign?
Violence, pre-emptive strikes, and inappropriate behavior are common place at Republican teabagger events. All teabaggers are to be considered armed and dangerous and dealt with accordingly.
And all members of ACORN should be considered criminals, pimps, racketeers, and fraud promoters. Let me know when the Dems denounce them, will you? I'll very likely be waiting for an iceberg to form in hell.
I am still waiting GO TIM!:
Proves Allison is the CEO or former of the Ventura County Small Business Colition. This is important. How about a street address. Phone number. Federal ID. Anything? There is no offical record of this organization anywhere. Not in Ventura county, not in Sacramento. Not in Washington. We think its a total fabrication. Prove us wrong.
Talk is cheap, his signs are cheap, and his experience is cheap. Not a good formula for success anywhere.
Maybe Tim himself can answer this question? Why don't you give him a call?
Tea Party Tom does not seem to know that ACORN went out of business back in April, the dems cannot denounce a group that does not exist! Rand Paul did not give back the $1,900 his Brown Shirt trooper gave him and you can bet if Rand is elected that this guy will be working for him. In the 1930s Hitler also said he did not approve of the violence of his Brown Shirts, with a wink and a nod of course.
Yes, I actually did know that ACORN went out of business back in April. They had no choice after Congress voted to stop funding them. What an embarrassment! And the Dems didn't have the guts to denounce them either before or after they disbanded. Bunch of cowards!
ACORN is the same group that Barack Hussein worked side-by-side with when he was a "community activist." That's probably a profession he'll have to return to when he gets booted out of there in a couple of years.
I am sure Rand Paul will give the $1,900 he got from the perp at the rally. $1,900 is not going to make or break his campaign. I predict he'll give it back.
Too late Tea Party Tom, you said "And all members of ACORN", there is no ACORN, they have no members, you didn't even know that until you read my comment! I have yet to see one Tea Party nut who has even half a brain! They were showing a bunch of Tea Party nuts up in Alaska and one of them said "I hate Holder and Obama because of what they want to do with guns". The reporter said "What have they said or done about guns?" The guy said "Duh, I don't know, but that is what I heard". Face it, the Tea Party is nothing more than the modern day Brown Shirters.
Wow, you're basing your entire assessment of the Tea Party on one drunken loon up in Alaska that somehow got approached by a reporter? No wonder you guys keep losing elections. You're not able to gauge public sentiment about anything or discern a nut from an intelligent, caring citizen.
Instead of praising the now defunct ACORN, you should be worried about the future direction of your Party. As usual, the Democrats have no sense of where they're going or even what they want to be. Time to turn it over to the Party that's really concerned about making our country great again. The only thing the Dems have done since they've been at the helm is give our kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids a huge debt to repay when they get older. Thanks a lot O-bomb-a!
Brian, wanted to say thanks for Sharp James trailer; definitely want to see the doco. I grew up just outside the Philadelphia of Frank Rizzo, and saw the effects of over-incumbency. VC isn't Newark/Detroit/Philadelphia/Baltimore and Elton isn't an old big-city-machine politician, but subtract economic growth and those lines might start to blur....
"Praising Acorn" no where did I praise ACORN, like all Tea Party Nuts you are also a complete liar and fool. Losing elections? Have fun Tuesday watching Carly and Meg get the crud stomped out of them! Of course it will be in the election, only Tea Partiers and Brown Shirts actually hold down real people and stomp on them for not wearing the same Brown Shirt!
AMPorter,
VC isn't going to become a Neward/Detroit/Philidelphia/New Jersey. We all know Elton Gallegly keeps running for Congress because he "loves his Congressional lifestyle". Elton Gallegly's record of achievment is also evidence that his Congressional lifestle comes first.
Elton Gallegly has the mindset of the politicians who turn cities like ours into a Neward/Detroit/Philidelphia/New Jersey. The voters need to take Elton Gallegly for a ride via ballot box before it happens.
I’d be inclined to bury the hatchet with you here. Which is not something I usually do! I enjoy reading a post that will make people think. Also, thanks for allowing me to comment!
Well, this was kind of boring but whatever.
