I enjoyed Collen Cason's column in The Star today. Her report that the people at the rally today were very polite and passionate reflects most of my experiences with political rallies in Ventura County.

Ventura County Supervisor Steve Bennett has been preparing for a run for Congress. As a long time elected official with a strong fundraising base he will be a strong candidate. David Pollock, a city council member from Moorpark is also running. Democrats having two elected officials declaring their run is proof that this district is much more competitive. They also have political newcomer David Cruz Thayne who appears to be putting together a serious campaign team.

Will Rep. Elton Gallegly retire? If he does I expect Tony Strickland will run to replace him.

If Tony Strickland runs then I predict Linda Parks runs too.

Any other candidates you want to predict will be declaring their intentions soon?
