The only three announced candidates for the new Ventura County based district met for a debate. Steve Bennett, David Cruz Thayne, and David Pollock debated in front of the Ventura City Democratic Club with KADY TV filming it.

Debates like these aren't widely seen by voters and often not even by party activists. But after watching the video I think you will see why David Pollock would like more people to watch it. To do that I was impressed that his campaign sent out a Youtube video with highlights of his performance.
After watching the debate what moments or answers stand out for you?
Look at that imbecile, Bennett. All he knows how to do is play with his pen. It seems like he forgets how to write when he starts to note something and then quits in the middle of a rant by that bloviating fool, David Pollock.
These guys aren't even in the same universe as Elton Gallegly. I can't wait to see them get their clocks cleaned next year.

If these 3 are the best we can put up against Elton Gallegly, we're done for. I'm registered DTS, but I've voted for Democratic candidates more often than Republicans in the past. I know I won't be voting for any of these 3 though. Hopefully, we'll get a few more (better) candidates in the mix before the primaries start.

Question for Pollock, Thayne or Bennett. Elton Gallegly and the tea party republicans voted today to raise taxes on 160 million Americans. Why in your opinion have the republicans voted to raise taxes on 160 million Americans at a time when we are still trying to recover from the near-depression caused by Bush and the GOP? You can bet I won't be voting for any of these republicans!
Good news! Steve Bennett has actually seen the writing on the wall and has decided not to run after all. He would have got his clock cleaned anyway. At least he's a realist and recognized this.
This is great, now the dems will keep Bennett's seat for Sup when he wins re-election easily and David Pollock will be the next congressmen meaning a congressional seat pickup for the dems.
Besides playing Rudi Stein, the little Jewish kid in the old "Bad News Bears" movie about a hundred years ago, what does Pollock have to offer? His political career will suffer the same fate as his acting career because, like Bennett, he's too far to the left to win in this district.
If Gallegly runs again, it's all over but determining how wide of a margin he will defeat this has-been Pollock by. If Gallegly decides not to run, then Tony Strickland will probably run and demolish him by a similarly wide margin. Linda Parks won't run because she can't beat Gallegly or Strickland in this district and she knows it.
So, yes, thankfully the Republicans will be holding on to this seat once again, thank you very much David Pollock.
Given the events of this week and how the GOP tried to raise taxes on us and how they want to destroy medicare and social security it looks like an easy victory for Pollock. Vote Pollock!
Yeah.....right! Gallegly has always won by extra wide margins because the Dims always put these no-name candidates up against him -- Tim Allison, Marta "No Gas" Jorgensen, Jill Martinez, Brett Wagner.....Need I go on?
Pollock will just be the next casualty. Thanks again, VCDCC. We appreciate you handing us another victory.
