Great ad/PSA! I'm actually looking for a new car and I hadn't even considered Chrysler til I saw the ad.

While the Left might feel the spot is talking about the election cycles and sympathetic to Obama and the Dems, the Right might just as well feel their anti-union claims have been vindicated if only because they can claim the auto industry's new two-tier salary/benefits programs are largely responsible for the turnaround.

I don't think either message was intended.

The meaning of the ad is simple, profound, powerfully enduring and quintessinally American.

And the choice of Clint Eastwood to narrate this ad was both marketing brilliance and soulfully synchronous.

As Walt Kowalski said in Gran Torino, "Take these three items, some WD-40, a vice grip, and a roll of duct tape. Any man worth his salt can fix almost any problem with this stuff alone."

In as much as it is highly likely that not one of the above three working-class items, let alone all three of them together, have ever been wielded purposefully by the 1% hands of President Obama, nor any of the Republican contenders, it is highly unlikely that any of them could have ever delivered such an important message to America so authentically, so poignantly, and with such a powerful, enduring, and soulfully satisfying effect.

Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama's approval rating is back to 50% for the first time in more than eight months, and he currently holds an edge against all the remaining Republican presidential candidates in hypothetical head-to-head match-ups, according to a new national survey.

And a CNN/ORC International Poll released Wednesday also indicates that the GOP's advantage on enthusiasm has been erased, and that the number of Americans who think things are going well in the country is on the rise. Six out of ten say things are going poorly in the country, but four out of ten say things are going well, up 15 points since November.

You DO KNOW that the Keystone project would cause oil prices to rise in the midwest, don't you? Right now, the only outlet for that very expensive oil is the northern states & midwest and because of that, the price of Canadian shale oil is artificially low. If Keystone gets its way, it will divert all that oil to the global spot market, where it will fetch higher prices.

So, not only does the cost of oil go up for the USA, we also get stuck with the associated costs of the pipeline, so that a Candian consortium can make lots more profit. Doesn't seem right, does it?

Your rationale makes no sense whatsoever. Provide some facts and figures to back up your claim that oil prices would rise if XL Keystone were constructed. Otherwise, you're simply blowing smoke.

If you allow divorce, you don't really believe in the sanctity of "traditional' marriage....however you define it. If you aren't prepared to sanctify ONLY those marriages that result in children, then you don't really believe in the sanctity of marriage. Try another argument. Here's one you can use: Voter measures supporting traditional marriage (or substitute your choice of controversial social issues) are vital to getting conservative voters to the polls! Yes. That argument works and it's far more honest.

You may recall that the 2008 election was one in which a record number of young and minority voters participated simply because Obama was on the ballot. They wanted to be "part of history" by helping to elect the first black President.

You would assume that these young, minority voters would have voted against Prop. 8. But, that wasn't the case. A majority of them actually voted in favor of it, which strengthens my argument that people of all political stripes support the concept of traditional marriage.

It will be interesting to see what the Supreme Court does, but I'm guessing they're going to uphold Prop. 8.

In Arizona rising Conservative star Sheriff Babeu has come out of the closet amid allegations he threatened his illegal alien lover with deportation if he told the press about their relationship, Babeu was also running for congress.

Republican spokesperson Rush Limbaugh called a young woman a "slut" simply because she expressed her personal view that health insurance companies should pay for contraceptives. This coming from a guy who was illegally buying viagra and painkillers. I'm sure Rush got the GOP a lot of votes from women this November with that statement. Not!
