With so many local campaigns trying to get our attention candidates are getting more creative. Julia Brownley (D) is running against Tony Strickland (R) and will be holding events for volunteers this weekend.

Help turn the 26th District blue! Arrive at the California Democratic Party office, 888 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. (just west of 23 Freeway and Armstrong's) at 11:30 AM for a brief training session. Then get out there and talk to voters! 50 days left, 50 doors for Julia! After the walk return to our office to cool off with root beer floats and ice cream sundaes. Brian: just to make clear, the "50 days til Election Day, 50 doors to knock" event is being hosted by the California Democratic Party on behalf of Julia Brownley, but I - as editor of the Democratic Club of the Conejo Valley's email blast - added the "50 shades of ice cream" description. I'm always looking for catchy headlines to get emails opened. This one seems to have worked exceedingly well!
