I'm not sure if I will vote for Dan White. It all depends on his part in the recent disgusting debacle which took place at the "Tee Up For Kids" golf tournament on September 14th. Was he one of the foolish boneheads who thought it would be a good idea to hire Hooters girls as entertainment for an educational benefit for CHILDREN? It is all well and good if men wish to visit the establishment where Hooters girls work, but to bring it to an event such as this was ignorant, thoughtless, juvenile and totally inappropriate. One would think that members of an education board would have more sense and maturity. God help us all if this is the type of people who are now working to benefit America's children. I am surprised that the newspaper didn't report this incident to the public, who have a right to know.

I've met Hirsch and she seems totally unqualified for the Board! Kurachi always seemed erratic. No, when all is said and done vote Collins, Sandland and White.

I would never vote for Dan White. He's a complete psycho.

He shot and killed me and my cohort, San Francisco Mayor George Moscone, in November 1978 as revenge for not being able to get his Supervisor's seat back after he resigned from it a few weeks earlier. Then he got off on an insanity plea by claiming he ate too many Hostess Twinkies, which affected how his brain functioned.

Sandland, Kurachi and Collins. During the past decade this trio has been absolutely instrumental in securing the cooperation of our teachers in lowering benefits and salaries WHILE helping those same teachers become more engaged in their classrooms and in their community.

This could easily be taken as a back-handed compliment but the plain fact is, these three have done all this by working directly WITH the union and the teachers rather as adversaries.

A great big thank you to the teachers and their union also, for helping get us through these tough times.

Dan was out of the country on September 14th and wasn't at the tournament and had nothing to do with the Hooters girls. I think they were brought by one of the hole sponsors.

Harvey Milk's Ghost--obviously not the same Dan White--that Dan White has been dead since 1985.

I have been convinced by talking to quite a few people whom I respect, from Left & Right, that Dan White IS the best candidate. For what it's worth, he's got my support!

Thank you for your response, Dave. That makes me feel more secure in putting a vote in for Dan White. Just curious, and maybe you can answer my question... After reading your response my friend, who's relative was present at the tournament, confirmed that it was indeed a hole sponsor, who also just happens to be on the board for the Simi Valley Education Foundation. Is this true? If so, has he been reprimanded and removed from the board?

Dan White used the "twinkie defense" when he was on trial for shooting and killing San Francisco Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk (i.e., he was mentally unstable because he was eating too much junk food).

I need an assurance from Mr. White that he won't go bonkers again and shoot up the Simi Valley School Board before I cast my vote for him.

Sandland, Collins and White are the best on the ballot.

Just so I'm not misinforming anyone, do a couple of you posters actually believe that your child will somehow be harmed by seeing a waitress with breasts? Or perhaps that child could be forever disturbed after arriving at a beach or the local swimming pool?

Or is it that you folks have some built-in prejudice, perhaps after a failed bout of potty training during your formative years, that would make you discriminate against young women in shorts and t-shirts?

Are you prepared to explain to the children of our community that many of their bodies are offensive and these kids should not be seen in public unless they wear the American equivalent of a burkha?

Gs, this isn't a matter of women in shorts and t-shirts, or even of women in bikinis, as I understand the Hooters girls were dressed. This comes down to a matter of what is appropriate for an educational fundraiser, and bikini-clad Hooters girls wrestling in a small pool somehow does not seem to fall within the category of acceptable for this type of benefit. This type of "entertainment" served one purpose, and one purpose only, and that was to gratify the sexual fantasies of a few silly men who are still too immature to know the difference between what is appropriate and what is not.We do not need this sort of man on the board for an educational foundation. Now, had these women simply been walking around in shorts and t-shirts or bikinis handing out flyers, brochures or snacks it would have been a whole different thing. I am not offended by Hooters women, strippers, call girls or any other woman who is able to survive due to being blessed with a pretty face and gorgeous body. More power to them! I hold them blameless in this whole debacle. I also have no problem with consenting adults enjoying pornography, but I most certainly wouldn't consider it appropriate to have porn stars performing at a function meant to raise funds for our children's education. Would you? I would like to know what Michelle Foster and Jill Haney thought of this since they were not even consulted first. Accountability for wrong doing...wow, what a concept!

I've really looked at this race and I'm voting for Sandland, Collins and White, they are clearly the best candidates.

For the record a person has been posting as "Dan White" the former San Francisco Supervisor. That is not the Dan White that is running for school board.
