Did you get involved in the last elections for Simi Valley School Board? I did. I posted a sign in my yard and shared my thoughts on some of the candidates.
I did not vote for all of the three winners of the last November election for School Board.
But I had my chance. If I felt strongly enough I should have spoken out more. That is basically why I oppose a recall.
I don't think the school district should pay for a do over election. Have you seen the estimates for the cost of a recall election? That's another cut to local schools. I am especially against those that did not get involved at all wanting a do over. That does not reward voter participation.
A group opposing a recall has posted a website.
What are your quick reactions?
I think a recall election is going to quickly get personal. The people that volunteer to help our local schools will quickly be polarized and divided. I don't think our schools will benefit.
Wait until you see some of the rumored replacement candidates.
The people that stand to benefit the most are political junk mailers, political activists, and newspapers. We just had an election. We have another election scheduled in November. We don't need the school district to pay for a special election with low voter turnout.
