Have you heard about the Republican candidate for Secretary of State ( the person in charge of running elections) that State Senator Tony Strickland endorsed?
He only bothered to vote once in his life and that was last year in the May special election.
He couldn't even bother to vote in the historic McCain/Obama contest.
But now he wants to be in charge of registering voters and running elections?
The people most seriously pushing him to run are those that want something out of him. The professional political class looking to cash in on a candidate. They will make money when he loses and then they will use the network he builds to support their campaigns.
Tony Strickland supports him which is a great political move for Strickland. After Dunn loses Tony Strickland can call on him to send him a check or to use his mailing list. I will take the endorsement seriously if Strickland bothers to write him a large check. Until then this endorsement is a disappointment.
Say what you want about Audra Strickland but she is more qualified to be Secretary of State. She was more qualified to be County Tax Collector because of her years in the state legislature than he is to be in charge of registering voters.
If you think this is a joke check out his website. His plan to register people to vote? He is going to go and ask people personally.
I have said many nice things about Tony Strickland but promoting this candidacy is disappointing.
Congratulations to Secretary of State Debra Bowen on drawing Damon Dunn as a candidate.
