( Barack Obama's youtube channel has ways of submitting ideas to his transition team.)
Donna Prenta, a local Simi Valley community activist and past candidate for the Ventura County Office of Education, is asking for your help advocating for services for adults with disabilities to the Barack Obama transition team.

The Thousand Oaks campaign office for Hannah-Beth Jackson is this Thursday. Click on continue reading for details.
Who's going? If you want me to post a photo of the event, please email it in. I don't plan on attending as of now.
Tony Strickland's supporters are also planning to go negative early. Click on continue reading for a press release about their planned attacks on Hannah-Beth Jackson.
At the same time Tony Strickland's campaign has an ad up. Here is the youtube version of it.
And here are some photos from Tony Strickland's team out at a Ventura parade. Do you think both candidates will be in the Simi Valley days Parade about a month?
Thanks to the Tony Strickland campaign for sending me the photos to post.
The Democratic Club of the Conejo Valley is hosting a candidate's forum Wednesday night with State Senate, State Assembly, and Congressional candidates scheduled to appear. Click on continue reading for details.
I went to Donna Prenta's house for a garden party to support Hannah-Beth Jackson on Sunday. There was about 30 plus people including school board members from Simi Valley and Moorpark. I took some photos but none of them came out great. Have both candidates been contacting pretty much every school board member across Ventura County?
( If I was on a board I would consider every school playing this on the last day. Maybe not.)
Is your local School Board interesting or boring? Would you rather have it the other way?
A maxim has been attributed to the Chinese as "May you live in interesting times". Read this interesting article for insight on the quote.
The top three school boards that attract the most political attention include Conejo, The County Board, and Camarillo.
To read an update on Camarillo schools click on continue reading. Otherwise consider this an open thread about local schools.
My suggestion: Instead of slagging people down tell us who you really want to run again for a school board seat or who you want to run for their first time as a school board member.
( The California Association of Political Centrists sees itself as a middle of the road political group in the mold of Dr. Keith Richman. )
The CAPC has announced the formation of their advisory council for the upcoming elections. With Romper Room in mind let me tell you who I see out there that stands out:
Leslie Cornejo ( Former GOP chair before Mike Osbourn and his insurgents overthrew her.)
Frank Dantona ( Hmm..the last name sounds familiar...)
Donna Prenta ( Looks like she has some new partners...)
Katie Teague ( Will she ever run against one of the Stricklands for something? That would an explosive race)
Barbra Williamson ( Of the famous Ask Barbra column on this website.)
This blog is devoted to the nuts and bolts of local politics.
Have some political Info you want released? Let me know! I want to publicize fundraisers, parties, Web sites, meetup.com events and anything else happening in Ventura County. So, send them to briandennert@yahoo.com.
