Ventura County on Reddit

The subreddit for Ventura County is worth checking out.

I found the post on America's best high schools interesting. Some Ventura County schools made the list.

There is also this post showing Buck McKeon and Julia Brownley both voted for CISPA.

This post on Sriacha being produced locally is great. I like the quote 'We do not make mayonnaise".

The most helpful resource might be this post that has pictures of menus from many local restaurants. That makes ordering over the phone or choosing where to go much easier.

Reddit is an amazing resource for sharing. Post any interesting subreddits as a comment here. You do not need to register to post a comment.

What are the best blogs covering Santa Clarita blogs?

A reader of mine asked me for some suggestions of blogs that cover Santa Clarita. If you can post some links and reviews I would appreciate it. You do not need to register to comment but keep it classy.

Here is the conversation that started it:

The Facebook page for my blog usually has better discussions. There are not anonymous comments and that often makes for more respectful and insightful posts. Sometimes I understand that there are meaningful reasons to be anonymous.

The Simi Valley Fair and Music Festival is this weekend. The fair this year is bigger than in the past. This is a great opportunity for candidates to meet people. The parade was this morning and had many politicians in it.

You can post pictures on the Facebook page for my blog. The best pictures I will post on this page. The debates there are usually better because it is not anonymous.

barr.jpeg The Simi Valley teachers union was there to support their endorsed candidates. They also support Proposition 30 and are against Proposition 32. What do you think of the propositions?

Please send in pictures I should post.

What should a party activist be able to say on Facebook?

Share: Share on Facebook submit to reddit StumbleUpon Toolbar

Adam Gregory, a Santa Clarita based Republican Party activist sent me a video of a meeting where the Chair of the Los Angeles County Republican Party tried to censure him for his Facebook posts. I'm friends with him on Facebook and I don't know what post was so upsetting.

He is a conservative Republican and he sometimes is critical of his own party. He supports Scott Wilk against Patricia McKeon in the State Assembly primary. It isn't surprising he posts critical statements of her and supportive statements for Scott Wilk. He has posted critical statements of Rep. Buck McKeon too. Add him on Facebook and you will see it isn't that exciting or controversial.

Is the Chair of the Republican Party saying a party activist cannot take sides in a party primary?

Read Adam Gregory's explanation here:

Adam, you might believe all sorts of stuff I disagree with but I'll defend your right to express yourself.
