Assemblywoman Strickland Video Promoting Health Care

| | Comments (12)

Below is a video of Assemblywoman Audra Strickland today at a press conference arguing for the need to pass a continuing appropriations bill so that state can pay for the medical bills that it is obligated to pay.

The Democrats oppose such a measure because it is their hope that the pain and suffering by those that depend on the government to pay their medical bills will pressure Republicans to raise taxes. This is cruel. The Dems should not use seniors, the disabled and the infirmed as pawns in their political games.

Audra did a great job making that statement today. Note that she "signed" her complete statement, while speaking.

Audra Strickland: Pathological Liar. People like her is why no budget has been passed. TOTALLY unwilling to comprimize.

jw1: Pathological nut-case. People like him/her need to use the blogs to air their twisted versions of the truth. TOTALLY unwilling to take care of themselves and need the government to make decisions for them.

Standup: Pathological idiot who is detached from reality.

original...did the gov't tell you to say that?

jw1,

She's addressing issues being raised by a group of constituents. Isn't that what she's elected to do?

Talk about pathological...

She has messed around for months and OBSTRUCTED passage of a budget. If it wasn't for nutjobs like her the budget would have been passed by now.

Ok...I saw the vid. Other than Audra seems to actually be able to sign, which is commendable, there really is no substance to the remarks seen on that link.

Even assuming the best of intentions by Audra, it would have played better some nearly three months ago than now.

Sitting on your hands for three months, causing untold anxiety, is not made up for by contrived speeches...or hand signing as things build to a breaking point.

Elsewhere I've seen where the Prison guard union is seeking a recall of the Governor. I'm no fan of him but he may be the only guy trying to work outside the box here.

I'd say, recall every legislator, every single one of them..and BAN them from running again, in their own district or somewhere else ala McClintock.

I know, not something that can be done, but at the rate we're going...throwing them all out. for good seems like a better option.

Tom,

And what has Pedro Nava been doing besides sitting on his hands while all this inaction has been going on with regard to the State budget? Yeah, I thought so...

I for one am very thankful for the work that Audra Strickland has been doing. She has been fighting for the rights of Californians who no longer want their government to treat them like atms. We need tax revenue for necessary programs, but we should look to cut wasteful spending first, not gouge tax payers more than we already have.

Oh my! yet ANOTHER cutsie screename: "What's Pedro Nava Been Doing?"

What a loser! Have the courage to stand up for your beliefs and not create a new screen-name for each and every issue you maroon! Good grief! Are you so afraid of your opinions that you need to HIDE?

What's Nava been doing...well, I honestly don't know, but with a Repub MINORITY that says NO to everything...what should he have done? Capitulate? Right, let's just change to minority rule now and get it over with. That would last only until Repubs have a majority.

There's been a lot of action on the budget, obviously not productive, why even the Governor has been working and offering compromises, but the Repubs just have stood ground. That is why nothing has been done. That is the fact..Jack.

I wonder what sort of impact it might have had if the Repubs said, early on, there are some oblications we need to uphold (like the insincere Audra would have you believe)...and not waited until now to speak up. Hmm..more credibility? Possibly.

Tommy Boy,

Like I said, and you confirmed, Nava's been doing exactly one thing - squat!!!

You are grossly misinformed, my friend. The Republicans just offered a proposal on the budget and the Democrats voted it down.

Read the paper once in a while, buddy. It contains lots of useful information.

uhm..WPNBDN! You gonna make a new name for every post? If so...gonna have to abbreviate it!

I'm not entirely happy with how the Dem's have handled this budget situation either, but as YOU confirm, the Repubs JUST (now) made a proposal...seems like months too late dude!

I'm not misinformed WPNDBN!....I just don't agree with you...whoever you are. Make a note..you should learn about that difference, you might find it helpful in the future!

I think, from what I see of it, Audra's proposal is the right thing to do...again..why did she wait so long to propose it?

I'd think Audra would have come off much better to propose this much earlier on is all. So much for "compassionate conservatism".
