The Star today had a excellent editorial and the need for the State to fund Care Centers and other heath care needs.
The article also quotes Democrat Assemblyman Pedro Nava as saying, "Assemblyman Pedro Nava, D-Santa Barbara, told reporter Kisken that, if legislators cannot resolve their differences on the budget, "we, as a state, may have to consider emergency alternatives before people die."
I guess Mr. Nava has a real problem with his memory. Last week the Republicans presented legislation to PAY for the care centers, health care needs, education and vendors who have provided the State with products and services.
Mr. Nava, through his Leader, Speaker Karen Bass, told the care centers to forgot it. No way will he allow the care centers to be paid, as long as Republicans refuse to raise taxes. Nava supported the effort to hold the elderly hostage.
The fault is NOT with the Legislature--it is with the Democrats and Governor who are holding the elderly and children hostage.
The media needs to tell the whole truth. if an editorial board wants to complain about the lack of payment for care centers, they need to point out that the Republicans wanted them paid, it was the Democrats and Governor who said no.
BTW, one of the reasons the Democrats and Governor want to raise your taxes is to pay for a Northern California resource board to change its name--at a cost of $5 million. Feel better--this is why the care centers are not being funded, so a bureaucrat can work for an agency with a nice name. Too bad that is not getting as much ink as those demanding a tax increase.
What do you think?. Are the Republicans right in demanding funding for care centers, health care , education and paying vendors. Or are the Democrats right in refusing to pay these needed programs until taxes are raised?
