It has been reported by the Sacramento Bee a few minutes ago that the Democrats and Republicans, not the Governor, are right now in the midst of finalizing a new State budget.
See the story here.
This will be a victory for taxpayers, job holders and families--thanks to the legislative Republicans.
The Democrats wanted to take an extra $10 billion from your pocket and spend $3 billion more! The GOP said no to both.
Yes, government will not grow. Plus, business will get a $1.6 billion or more tax increase early next year when the Unemployment Fund goes dry and needs a minimum of $1.6 billion to keep it afloat.
This also does not include the $388 million in a lost lawsuit, nor the $15 billion Clark Kelso is trying to take from the treasury to make criminals more comfortable in prison.
California is not out of the woods yet. But, as least the Republicans saved families and businesses $10 billion.

Coming to agreement was easy once democrats adopted the GOP method of pretending the deficit was billions smaller than it really is.
The Calabasas/Agoura Acorn had the article about the CTA demonstration against Audra. It quoted CVUSD candidate Peggy Buckles, a PTA council officer, but the Conejo version of the Acorn only had the photo. Strange that the editor didn't run the whole article with details about Conejo politicians and teachers which would have been of interest to Conejo voters. The TO version did NOT identify the Supt from Oak Park, either. I'm not voting for Peggy Buckles, ever!! She thinks she is a Republican, but she is in bed with the union goons.
Here is the link to the Legislative Analyst's take on the budget and the education funding. Spending is $11,652 a pupil. That's a lot. The union is lying to the public that California is at the bottom in the nation. No, it's #25--smack in the middle.

Typical republican spin, it's all the democrats fault.. Doesn't mention all the needed human support programs being cut. Nor does in mention that the new Governor and the Republican Party was going to save the day for California and has miserably failed.

Spoken like a good Democrat. You prefer to punish families with higher taxes. You would like to kill jobs with more taxes and regulations.
If those "human support programs" include a million dollars for furniture for the State Controller or $5 million to change the name of a water resource district, then yes. Do you mean the $400 million spent by LAUSD to put a school on top of a cancer creating methane field, or $300 million to build a single "arts" school in downtown LA (where few children live), then yes.
Government pays 15-25% extra to keep labor "peace" by giving in to the special interests.
Sell the LA Coliseum, sell the Cow Palace in South San Fran, get rid of other government assets that should be in the private sector.
Stop the spin and run government for the people, not the special interests and the Luddites.
