More Desperation From Hannah Jackson

| | Comments (15)

You know that in the last days of a campaign you can always tell the losing candidate in a race. They are the ones making crazy charges and claiming all the "evil" in the world is the fault of their opponent.

Last night while trying to enjoy the LA Lakers having another blow out game, I was inundated with political ads. One of them was "promoting" Jackson. How did she promote herself? By blasting George Bush, our President. You might ask what does Bush have to do with the race in the 19th State Senate District in California?

Well, First she says that Bush "opposes" Social Security--which is a lie. Then she tells the truth that Tony Strickland in 2004 supported Bush for re-election. Then she implies that because of a wrongly stated position, by her, the people should oppose Strickland.

If you buy into that line of reasoning, here is another line:

Hannah Jackson supports Barack Obama for president. Obama had for 20 years a hate filled, bigoted pastor named Wright. For many years the Obama finance adviser and person who got him a job at a law firm was a mobbed up crook, Tony Reszko. Then you have the Obama political and policy adviser, Bill Ayers--who is an unrepentant terrorist, who we now know Barack partied with, along with a spokesmen for the terrorist Yasser Arafat, a man who wished he threw more bombs.

If Strickland ran such an ad, he would be laughed at. Jackson is not responsible in any way for the corrupt, terrorist, bigots surrounding Obama. if she believes Strickland is responsible for Bush policies than she is responsible for the corruption of Obama. Hannah, tell the truth, do you support the friends of Obama, his advisers and corrupt money machine?

I hope the mainstream media takes her to task for this sleaze. But, I doubt it.

On another note. We all know that the State is $10 billion in debt (which Jackson would raise taxes to make it worse). Part of the reason we are in debt is because some businesses refuse to pay taxes. This afternoon I will release the names and the numbers. I will give just a sampling of Ventura County businesses that are the cause of this problem. One Simi Valley firm, for instance, owes over $581,000 in taxes, according to the Franchise tax Board. Later today I will let you know who this recalcitrant is. You will be surprised!.

Maybe the Star could do a story on all the tax evaders of Ventura County. Collecting this money is a better way to cut the deficit than raising taxes, don';t you think?

Tony Strickland was the first politician in Ventura County to come out and endorse George W Bush in the 2000 election. He did that at almost the same time he opposed tough regulation of sub-prime mortgages.

Oh, c'mon, jw, you know this is a lame attempt by the Jackson people to associate Tony with Bush. Nobody's buying it because there's no reasonable relationship. For one thing, we're talking about two completely different levels of government here: the federal and the state.

Back in 2000, a lot of people respected and admired Bush. So what? Has Tony been asked lately what he thinks about Bush's policies? No.

This is an old political gimmick (guilt by association) which only further demonstrates the desperation tactics employed by the Jackson folks. Can't wait until Tuesday, I'll tell you.

Fact: Tony Stricklands political philosophy is 100% identical to Bush.

Fact: Bush is a failure.

Fact: Strickland will therefore be a failure.

Fact: No relationship whatsoever between a Southern California Senate seat and the Office of the President of the United States.

Fact: Hannah-Beth Jackson is a desperate smear artist, which is evident in her latest mailers and radio ads.

Fact: You predicted Strickland will be the winner of this race when you proclaimed he will be a failure.

Fact: My champagne is chillin' in the frig.

The best thing going for Jackson is that Frank is working for Strickland. Since Frank always loses, Jackson has it made.

FACT: Tony Strickland sends out THREE times the political hit mail that HBJ does.

FACT: Tonys charges against HBJ are false over 95% of the time.

Fact: Tony really is just as dumb as HBJ depicts him. He even voted against strong regulation of sub-prime mortgages(about six months after he was the first politician around here to endorse GW Bush.

The only thing that is more scurrilous than Tony's campaign is this blog. No credibility either place.

Wow, you guys seriously need to check your facts before you make claims because you all obviously have no idea what you're talking about. I am a decline to state and have room mates of different party affiliations, so we are literally getting all of the mail that is going out.

FACT: HBJ gives us 1-3 mailers every day.

FACT: Strickland for Senate gives us probably one mailer a week

FACT: 90% of the hit pieces against HBJ are from independant groups using independant expenditure money and are not affiliated with Strickland except they have a common enemy.

FACT: Regardless of the previous fact, HBJ is still sending otu a significant number of additional mailers.

FACT: 90% of the hit pieces put out on TOny are from HBJ for senate.

So I ask you, when looking at the real FACTS how can you make the claims that you make? You obviously need to do your research before you type and embarass yourselves because the information you are propagating is just not true. And that's a FACT.

FACT: It is a lie to say Tony Strickland sends out only one mailer a week.

I agree with Tom. I've been inundated with Jackson mailers for the last 3 weeks. And 90% of them are nothing but nasty, mud-slinging, diatribes that take aim at Strickland's family as well as throwing out other below-the-belt insinuations.

This trash must be turning people's stomachs and I think it actually works contrary to their intent.

Just got the mail this morning. 2 HBJ mailers(1 HBJ and 1 Special interest supporter)
6 Tony Strickland mailers including 2 special interests.

FACT: NO HBJ mailer attacks Tony Stricklands family.

FACT: A candidates record while in the Assembly is fair game. It is entirely fair to note that while Tony Strickland was introducing this coun ty to George W Bush in 2000 he was opposing regulation of the big banks.

I'm not sure who, if anyone, is "desperate" in this race.

I think it's fair to say that both candidates want to win. Politics is an aggressive full contact sport, make no mistake about it. The best we can hope for is a clean fight.

One side or the other hits hard?? Get over it! This isn't Romper Room!

I will say that as curious as the "boy/girl" Strickland dynasty is working out to be, they've got nothing on Tom McClintock! So much for "citizen legislators". What a phony he turned out to be! That man got termed out, then shopped for new district! At least girl Strickland at some point had a real day job too, I'll give her that.

Just a point about President Bush, something on the order of 75% of the population think he's doing a terrible job. I'm not surprised that there is criticism of Bush, and those that support his failed policies really.

I think Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and others will be lucky not to ultimately be indicted for War Crimes. Oh, yah, Rumsfeld already has been once, in Germany.

As to the rest Stevarino, yep, I'll give you that the Rev. Wright is a bit off, but then so are/were Oral Roberts, Falwell, and Dobson. There is a heck of a lot more wack-o right wing "Christian" fundementalists around then nutty left wing ones.

Was Ayers a terrorist? Seems like it, a long time ago, but having Obama on a committee (sponsored by a Republican) with him pales in comparison to Rumsfeld cheerfully shaking hands with Saddam Hussein. And that Rashid Khalidi was a spokesman for the PLO....Stevie...wonder this..the USA has had diplomatic dealings with the PLO for some time now...so what if Khalidi was a "spokesman"? Does Bush "associate" with terrorists then?

You seriously want to talk about "sleaze"?? I'd be more circumspect about "sleaze" if I were you.

Tough luck right wingers. Just checked final election results and HBJ WON by just a little over 100 votes.

Don't count those chickens yet, jw. There are still thousands of absentee ballots yet to be counted, most of which come from east Ventura County/west Los Angeles County (Strickland country).
