Losing track of sex offenders

The Sex Offender Registries are the biggest threat to National Security - MUCH larger than Al Queda could ever HOPE to be. The sad thing is that nobody sees this ticking time bomb for what it truly is. Americans bury their heads in the sand rather than looking at this rationally. Do people TRULY believe that someone who is intent on committing further sex offenses is going to tell law enforcement agencies where they live, who they work for, what their e-mail addresses and on-line identities are while they are doing so? That is so proposterous! Look at every nationally publicized case where a known sex offender reoffended - 90% of the time they completely disregarded the laws. These laws ONLY make it impossible for those of us who ARE focused on doing the right things to live any semblance of a normal, healthy, stable life. By creating a group of some 700,000 hopeless people living lives full of despair and daily mental tolls we are creating a sub-culture of individuals who will have little value for life, their own or others. Many WILL lash out against society for that. Mark my words.

The police shooter in Pittsburgh this week was "depressed" because he lost his job recently - he didn't know the meaning of the word depressed. One should try living under the daily burdens of this modern-day Scarlet Letter!
