Big employers and the VC housing market

Between the sinking real estate market and the explosion of foreclosures, the last thing the region needs is big job cuts from its top two employers; Amgen just announced 1,600 possible layoffs, most affecting the Thousand Oaks area, while Calabasas-based Countrywide may lay off far more.

This happened back when the big defense contractors left the area. Companies come and go everywhere. Companies lay people off everywhere.

A constant factor is Thousand Oaks is one of the safest, most desirable, well run cities in the World. It has always attracted the most successful industries and corporations and that's not fluctuating. That's a constant.
