Health insurance for poor kids

To the consternation of many in his own party, President Bush is strongly threatening to veto an increase by Congress in funding healthcare insurance for poor children via the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). Governor Schwarzenegger is among those upset, and is promising to come up with a solution on the state level to provide universal coverage for kids.

13 year old child...parents making $50,000...housing at @ $1700 monthly...gas prices increasing...food prices increasing...
I'm glad you can afford healthcare. Not everyone can.
It isn't socialized medicine. It's universal healhcare. we're not talking about the government providing healthcare...just regulating it. We don't want hand-outs. We want coverage that we can afford.
BTW: The US Postal Service is a private company...not a government agency...so much for the Private-Sector looking out for the citizens.
A Nation is judged by how well it takes care of it's children. Watch what happens to the Republican party in the next election.

25 year old kids? Parents making $80,000 yearly can certainly afford their own insurance. I do. This is just another step towards socialized medicine. Give it a few years and a few trillion $'s. ZThe government can't run the postal service or try calling the bureau of motor vehicles. Yeah, they can run YOUR healthcare, not mine.
