State of the State

California and Gov. Schwarzenegger had had hopes of 2008 being of "year of education" ... until they say this year's deficit projections of up to $14 billion in th ered.

I don't think anybody really knew back then that California's hot real estate market would cool so much, foreclosures would skyrocket and prices would drop significantly... that eats up a lot of the previously-expected revenues that might've helped balance the budget.

Didn't Governor Arnold campaign on reducing Grey Davis' budget deficit? Didn't he say that only he could eliminate the $15 Billion in the hole?
