Cutting state worker's pay

State Paycut727.jpg

To ratchet up the pressure for the legislature to pass a state budget, Gov. Schwarzenegger has proposed slashing the pay of all state workers to minimum wage, arguing the state is running out of money (because the legislature has been unable to pass a state budget).

When was the last time you heard, or read about the State Legislature voting to raise their own pay?

You do realize of course that Legislators and their staffers lost their pay on June 15 with the last check coming their way on July 1 without a state budget. Also, Legislators do not vote on their pay, but an independent commission that cannot be confirmed nor denied by a voye by the Legislature.
