I love the Chamber of Commerce. You may not be aware but the Chambers of Commerce of military communities are very commited to and supportive of the military families in their midsts. Oxnard/Port Hueneme Chambers are among those great Chambers looking for ways to support service members amd their families.

Did you know that most Chamber businesses offer military discounts? It is true! Coming soon will be information on how to quickly identify the businesses in Port Hueneme and Oxnard offering this discount.

But discounts are only one effort by the Chamber in support of the military. Mark your calendar! Next Thursday evening, July 17, 2008, the Port Hueneme Chamber of Commerce, Oxnard Chamber of Commerce and Oxnard Harbor District are hosting an 'After Hours' Military Appreciation Mixer to honor, well, us.

The mixer, an annual event, will be held at the Oxnard Harbor District (333 Ponoma Street, Port Hueneme) at 5:30pm. Great food and beverages will be provided, gifts and door prizes awarded, and we'll enjoy a great opportunity to meet members of the Chamber whose goods and services enhance our lives. Mixers provide a great opportunity to meet prospective employers (aren't we military wives are always looking for a career opportunity), find that business you need, network for your own business and even meet a neighbor.
